<p><strong>The role </strong></p>
<p>Supported by a generous benefaction from the Honor Frost Foundation (https://honorfrostfoundation.org/) we are seeking to appoint an individual with an established national and international reputation within the field of the Maritime
Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean at Associate Professor level (appointment at Lecturer level might also be considered dependent on the candidate’s experience). The successful candidate will enhance the international reputation of
the Department of Archaeology within Maritime Archaeology; will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level; and be expected to undertake leadership, management and engagement activities.</p>
<p>The post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 7 years. The appointee will receive an annual research support package of £20,000 per annum.</p>
<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>You will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Hold a phd or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Maritime Archaeology or a related subject area;</li>
<li>Have a well-established national and/or international reputation in Maritime Archaeology with a specialist knowledge of the Maritime Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean;</li>
<li>Possess an extensive track record of published research that demonstrates international excellence in originality, significance and rigour;</li>
<li>Have proven ability to develop innovative research proposals and attract research funding;</li>
<li>Bring with you a track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and an ability to contribute teaching to our Maritime Archaeology and Archaeology or Archaeology & Anthropology curricula.</li>
<li>Have excellent organisational skills and a willingness to engage with leadership, management and engagement activities within the Department and School;</li>
<li>Be expected to work effectively in a team, and hold a positive attitude to colleagues and students.</li>
</ul>
<p>While not essential, the following criteria are desirable:</p>
<ul>
<li>Membership of Higher Education Academy;</li>
<li>A teaching qualification (PCAP or equivalent);</li>
<li>Experience of running and managing archaeological fieldwork projects;</li>
<li>Diving experience and qualification.</li>

The role Supported by a generous benefaction from the Honor Frost Foundation (https://honorfrostfoundation.org/) we are seeking to appoint an individual with an established national and international reputation within the field of the Maritime Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean at Associate Professor level (appointment at Lecturer level might also be considered dependent on the candidate’s experience). The successful candidate will enhance the international reputation of the Department of Archaeology within Maritime Archaeology; will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level; and be expected to undertake leadership, management and engagement activities. The post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 7 years. The appointee will receive an annual research support package of £20,000 per annum. About you You will: * Hold a phd or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Maritime Archaeology or a related subject area; * Have a well-established national and/or international reputation in Maritime Archaeology with a specialist knowledge of the Maritime Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean; * Possess an extensive track record of published research that demonstrates international excellence in originality, significance and rigour; * Have proven ability to develop innovative research proposals and attract research funding; * Bring with you a track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and an ability to contribute teaching to our Maritime Archaeology and Archaeology or Archaeology & Anthropology curricula. * Have excellent organisational skills and a willingness to engage with leadership, management and engagement activities within the Department and School; * Be expected to work effectively in a team, and hold a positive attitude to colleagues and students. While not essential, the following criteria are desirable: * Membership of Higher Education Academy; * A teaching qualification (PCAP or equivalent); * Experience of running and managing archaeological fieldwork projects; * Diving experience and qualification.
