Telling stories will produce communication skills to convey ideas, practicing
programming will form critical thinking skills to solve problems, getting used
to living creatively will result in innovation, collaborating will enrich
insight and knowledge.




A LETTER FROM FOUNDER

ideaSTEAM started with a dream that the children of this nation will be able to
understand the concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
from an early age by introducing the natural wealth of the archipelago, cultural
arts, and local wisdom through fun ways to play using the latest technology. So
that later their competence is not inferior to children from nations in
developed countries. Computational Thinking is a common method introduced to
children who grow up in developed countries. We want the children of this nation
to also recognize and apply this method so that a structured and systematic
mindset is formed, through fun playing activities.

 

ideaSTEAM diawali dari mimpi agar anak-anak bangsa ini sejak dini mampu memahami
konsep sains, teknologi, rekayasa, dan matematika dengan mengenalkan kekayaan
alam nusantara, seni budaya, dan kearifan lokal melalui cara bermain yang
menyenangkan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi terkini. Agar kelak kompetensi mereka
tidak kalah dengan anak-anak dari bangsa di negara maju. Computational Thinking
menjadi metode yang lumrah diperkenalkan kepada anak-anak yang tumbuh besar di
negara maju. Kami ingin agar anak-anak bangsa ini juga mengenal dan menerapkan
metode ini sehingga terbentuk pola pikirnya yang terstruktur dan sistematis,
melalui aktivitas bermain yang menyenangkan.

 

We at ideaSTEAM started by preparing a training curriculum and introducing the
use of block programming to work on specific case studies through computational
games. Furthermore, children are also introduced to the procedure of making 3D
designs and printing objects using a 3D printer. We also prepare competencies so
that children are able to assemble electronic components and do programming by
making development boards, curriculum materials, and technical training. Until
in the end the children – based on their imagination and skills – were able to
independently build robots with artificial intelligence. We strongly believe
that children at their golden age need a means of channeling creativity, so that
their imagination can be turned into reality without the need to reduce the joy
of childhood.

 

Kami di ideaSTEAM memulainya dengan menyiapkan kurikulum pelatihan dan
memperkenalkan penggunaan block programming untuk mengerjakan studi kasus
tertentu melalui permainan komputasi. Selanjutnya, anak juga diperkenalkan
dengan prosedur pembuatan desain 3D dan pencetakan objek menggunakan mesin 3D
printer. Kompetensi agar anak mampu merangkai komponen elektronika dan melakukan
pemrograman juga kami persiapkan dengan membuat development board, materi
kurikulum, dan teknis pelatihannya. Hingga pada akhirnya anak-anak tersebut –
berdasarkan imajinasi dan keterampilan yang mereka miliki – secara mandiri mampu
membangun robot dengan kecerdasan artifisial. Kami sangat percaya bahwa
anak-anak di usia emasnya memerlukan sarana penyaluran kreativitas, sehingga
imajinasi mereka dapat diwujudkan menjadi hal yang nyata tanpa perlu mengurangi
keceriaan di masa kecil.

 

Desire needs curiosity, sacrifice needs sincerity.

solving complex problems, a way to learn topics in many disciplines, and a

WHAT IS STEAM?



STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology,
Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student
inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take
thughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in

WHAT WE DO?



We provide training to achieve competence in basic computer programming skills,
3D object design and use of 3D printer machines, electronic component assembly,
Internet of Things development, robotics building, artificial intelligence
applications, and virtual reality and augmented reality technology applications.




Kami melayani pelatihan untuk mencapai kompetensi pada kemampuan dasar
pemrograman komputer, desain objek 3D dan penggunaan mesin 3D printer,
perangkaian komponen elektronika, pengembangan Internet of Things, pembangunan
robotika, pengaplikasian kecerdasan artifisial, serta pengaplikasian teknologi
virtual reality dan augmented reality.


THE A-TEAM

The ideaSTEAM team has been formed since 2019. It consists of students in the
Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering Universitas
Sumatera Utara who intensely exchange ideas and information with the Founder in
conducting various kinds of experiments using 3D Printing technology, Internet
of Things, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence. On several occasions, this
team member also participated in competitions, incubation programs, and funding
grants. Until now – after they have graduated and are working – the members of
this team are still solid and committed to raising the ideaSTEAM so that they
are able to produce products whose benefits have a positive impact on the nation
and the alma mater.

 

Tim ideaSTEAM mulai dibentuk sejak tahun 2019. Terdiri dari mahasiswa di Program
Studi Teknologi Informasi dan Teknik Elektro Universitas Sumatera Utara yang
intens bertukar ide dan informasi dengan Founder dalam melakukan berbagai macam
eksperimen menggunakan teknologi 3D Printing, Internet of Things, Robotics, dan
Artificial Intelligence. Di beberapa kesempatan, anggota tim ini juga turut
berpartisipasi pada kompetisi, program inkubasi, dan hibah pendanaan. Hingga
saat ini, setelah mereka sudah pada lulus dan bekerja, anggota tim ini masih
solid dan berkomitmen untuk membesarkan ideaSTEAM agar mampu menghasilkan produk
yang manfaatnya berdampak positif bagi bangsa dan almamater.
