Hybrid meaning - board short material made with fly, pockets and belt loops. They were the most comfortable 4-way stretch, light and breathable and quick drying. I decided in March 2021 to update one pair of shorts to wear at the gym. I got the Zero Dark 30's and Deer Hunters. I'm 5'10", 180lbs and I got the size M, 7" length. I put them on, and ordered almost every other pair in that size I could since then. I love the side pockets that fit all my daily stuff. Wallet in the left, keys on the right. My massive iPhone 11 Pro Max fits nicely in the pocket, my pocketknife wits just right in the left front pocket. And the underwear never rides up. For nearly 30 years, I've adjusted my underwear all day every day. Until I got Birddogs. I swear by them, I wear them every day. And recommend them to everyone. The joggers are just as good. My massive iPhone 11 Pro Max fits nicely in the pocket, my pocketknife wits just right in the left front pocket. And the underwear never rides up.
