HOW CAN ONE CHECK IF A COMPANY IS LEGAL?

Custom Helpers wants to ensure that you receive care from a legal company that
has the best intentions to provide your home health needs. We recommend asking
these questions to any potential agency.
Ask for proof of a state license. (Will have an expiration date and the category
of license – homemaker, skilled nursing, etc.)
Ask for a copy or proof of worker’s compensation and insurance.
Ask about employee vetting (criminal background check and BEAs checks)


DO YOU PROVIDE ANY TRAINING FOR YOUR WORKERS?

Yes, we do. Custom Helpers has proper in-service training completed for our
employees with a registered nurse to maintain our skills.


ARE THE HEALTHCARE WORKERS YOUR EMPLOYEES, OR ARE THEY SUBCONTRACTORS?

All our caregivers/employees are Custom Helpers Home Healthcare employees. We
are responsible for worker’s compensation, tax liability, general insurance,
etc.


WHAT KIND OF SERVICE AGREEMENT IS REQUIRED?

We have a contract signed by both client and assessor.


WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SKILLED AGENCY AND A HOMEMAKER AGENCY?

A skilled agency such as Custom Helpers can provide non-skilled services and
skilled services (nursing by a registered nurse) and holds the proper license to
do so.
