Making redundancies can be the hardest part of the process when you need to
streamline your business. It can sometimes feel as though you are in a nightmare
of potential litigation.

DESIGN THINKING


Graphic and Web Designers often believe and follow, that for our boxing gloves,
every problem that comes across, is a punching bag. Most of us including me
can?t help it. It is kind of in our nature to analyse everything that comes our
way and of course deal with it our way, sometimes even if we don?t need to deal
with it. We have our thinking patterns, and not everything falls in accordance
to that. For example if a designer goes out to design a piece of furniture, say
a chair, he will always question the environment. Lets say a graphic designer is
given the job of doing the corporate identity of a client, he most of the times
will criticize about the rest of the work and environment of the client and how
it does not mingle with his designs. So he is actually relooking at the whole
stream of changes to be brought about, from the look of the office to the
corporate T-shirts.

My point is that shouldn?t we analyze what a situation already has in store and
figure out a way to have a good impression of that on our minds, then we start
with the creations. Well if your client is willing to change everything
according to you, that would be great for you, but what if he?s not. Then should
you lose interest or criticize to yourself, or should you develop harmony with
the existing. After all, it may not be perfect to you, but it is some kind of
form and working out a design around it is a challenge.
According to me, this should be design thinking.

example, if you have to clean your house for a holiday party, your different
rooms could be the project’s stories. As the parental figure, you’d be the
product owner, writing and divvying up the different stories. The Scrum master
(perhaps the eldest child) would be there helping with the current story (i.e.
cleaning the kitchen), while at the same time encouraging his or her younger
siblings to complete their sections of the story sprint on time (i.e. by the end
