ABOUT FORUM

OVERVIEW

The Future of Semiconductor Forum 2024, to be held in Riyadh, is poised to be a
pivotal gathering for the Middle East's semiconductor industry. Bringing
together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts, the forum will delve into
the latest advancements in semiconductor technology and explore opportunities
for localization in Saudi Arabia.

Semiconductors are integral components of modern electronic devices and play a
crucial role across various sectors, including telecommunications, computing,
automotive, and aerospace. With the demand for semiconductors projected to
continue surging, Saudi Arabia is well-positioned to leverage this growth by
developing a robust domestic semiconductor industry.

Localization of semiconductor technologies is essential to Saudi Arabia for
several reasons. Firstly, it would decrease the country's reliance on
semiconductor imports, making the economy more resilient to potential supply
chain disruptions. Additionally, it would create new employment opportunities
for Saudi citizens and aid in transferring critical semiconductor technologies
to Saudi Arabia, thus bolstering the country's technological capabilities.

The successful Future of Semiconductor Forum events held in 2023 and 2022
brought together various stakeholders to discuss the semiconductor industry's
future in Saudi Arabia. These forums sparked significant interest in the
potential for localization of semiconductor technologies in the country and
helped establish a solid foundation for the Future of Semiconductor Forum 2024.
