BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE - TOGETHER

The future is always uncertain, and what East Texas businesses need today may
not necessarily be what they need in the future.

Education is a responsibility we all share. We must be diligent, steadfast, and
engaged to improve the future for our young people, ourselves, and our
community. No single person, program, or organization can guarantee an
individual’s success; but, we can work together as a community to give all East
Texans every possible opportunity for success.

The Business Education Council brings educators and employers together to
discuss future workforce needs and build strong educational and career pathways
that prepare East Texas students for a brighter future.

BUSINESS EDUCATION COUNCIL PROGRAMS

As part of our commitment to improve educational outcomes and economic success
in the Tyler Area, the Business Education Council serves as the catalyst for the
following initiatives:


TYLER AREA PARTNERSHIP 4 EDUCATION

Postsecondary education has long been the best path to economic prosperity and a
better quality of life. The Tyler Area Partnership 4 Education strives to
increase the number of Smith County residents with a postsecondary credential of
value-be that a degree, certificate, or certification.

TYLER AREA REGIONAL CAREER PATHWAYS NETWORK

The Business Education Council works alongside industry leaders and educators to
build strong educational and career pathways that ensure that East Texas
students have the skills and credentials needed for economic advancement. The
program forms regional talent pipelines to meet East Texas’ future workforce
needs.

EAST TEXAS TRI-AGENCY INITIATIVE

East Texans need efficient and flexible ways to earn degrees, certificates, and
other credentials of value linked to high-wage, in-demand jobs. The East Texas
Tri-Agency Initiative was created to help improve the alignment of education and
career pathways with labor market demand.

ABOUT THE TYLER AREA BUSINESS EDUCATION COUNCIL

The Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce has always had a vested interest in the
region’s educational infrastructure and capabilities.

In 2012, the Tyler Chamber and the City of Tyler established the Tyler Area
Business Education Council, whose goal is to convene stakeholders to develop new
programs that ensure our region is prepared for the future.
