The Los Caida Chronicle


The city of Los Caida is California's new thriving hub of industry, with many
businesses growing in the city. Many companies are moving their operations to
Los Caida, taking advantage of the economic growth of the city to rejuvinate
their activities and profits. Up until twenty-five years ago, Los Caida was
renowned for only two things: criminal activity and the fisheries industry. It
was one of the most rundown and violent cities on the West Coast, and was even
given nicknames like "Little LA" and "Murder City." Many of the street gangs
there were as brutal as the ones in Los Angeles, and the only reason Los Caida
was less notorious than Los Angeles for its crimes was because Los Caida was so
much smaller. As for the fisheries industry, Los Caida was constantly
overshadowed by larger cities in California, which kept the people of California
and the United States from realising the value in the city for those who wished
to work in that industry.

Then, for reasons nobody has the ability to discern, Los Caida blew up,
figuratively speaking. The government infused huge amounts of money into the
city, hundreds of businesses moved there, and hundreds more started up. The
population surged, and over the next twenty-five years – from 1990 to 2015 – the
population quadrupled in size from 35,000 to over 140,000. It became known as
"California Mecca" to those who sought to make it big in the business world and
ensure their success. However, Los Caida was not only attractive to the mortals
of the world - it was also attractive to the Lost, although as much as many came
to Los Caida to keep ahead of their former Keepers, as the city grew rapidly the
number of Lost who emerged directly from the Hedge whilst escaping from Arcadia
emerged straight into Los Caida or the surrounding countryside.
