The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) leads the hospitality
industry through advocacy, education and innovation. Whether it’s navigating the
complex waters of ever-changing regulations, providing cutting-edge training and

Membership Information
MINIMUM WAGE AND PAID SICK LEAVE REQUIREMENTS
The Michigan Supreme Court recently ruled on a case that will result in the
repeal of Michigan’s existing minimum wage and paid leave time laws effective on
February 21, 2025. The new law will quickly increase the minimum wage and phase
out the tip credit. It will simultaneously enact the most rigid, burdensome paid
leave mandate in the country.
