Welcome!
Darkana is a magic-infused, modern day style dark academia roleplay centering
around the fictional D'Arkane Institute of Magic. The college is in an eerie,
revived town called Darkana located on the outskirts of New Orleans.

There is no word count, activity is tracked via open communication with our
writers, and we allow members 25+ and content up to a 3-3-3 rating. We use a
profile application with an included auto-thread tracker, and our site
functionality is entirely automated from post tagging to claims lists.

Darkana staff and members alike value our flexible, accepting community as much
as we do the ability to write what we love in a judgement-free zone. Whatever
your walk of life, however you are, you are welcome here. Come on in and stay
awhile!

There are carnival rides and games, stalls to buy autumnal gifts and decor for
your home (or dorm room!), and plenty of fall-themed foods from all local

Originally founded in 1712, Darkana was a precursor to New Orleans. For the size
of the town, Darkana seemed to have an unfair share of natural disasters. Some
say it was cursed. Others say it was just bad luck. Either way, the town was
ravaged by fire, hurricane, and illness until it was abandoned completely in
1881. But now, Shops and housing and small businesses were have been
repopulated. The town was drawing in unsuspecting folks, mages interested in the
new goings-on, and those with a keen interest in the 'unexplained' to fill in
the gaps that had existed in that town for so many years. Everything has
continued on the up-and-up...except for the growing occurrences of oddly
inexplicable 'preternatural' activity around the academy, and Darkana.
