TOWNS & VILLAGES

Palma City is the capital of Majorca and has a population of around 450,000
residents. Palma Airport is located just to the south of the City. It’s the
third busiest airport in Spain owing to around 29 million passengers yearly.

Inca and Manacor are the next two largest towns in Majorca. Lots of other small
towns, villages and resorts. Sineu, Sóller, Mancor de la Vall, Burger, Muro, Sa
Pobla, Andratx, Deià, Calvia and Selva, etc.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE EXCURSIONS THAT I CAN DO:

PALMA DE MAJORCA TAXI TOUR

Palma tour includes the Palma Cathedral, the Lonja and the Almudaina Palace.
Next to Plaza Cort which is the Center of Palma where the Town Hall is also
situated. We can pass some of the Patios of Palma which can been seen in the
narrow streets of the old town. From the center we head to Bellver Castle.
Bellver meaning beautiful view. Where you can see views of Palma with it’s vast
marina and also some of the mountains of the Serra de Traumantana. A visit to
Palma’s plaza de toros ‘Bullring’ is a must with a visit to a Pearl factory in
Palma and also some other places of interest.

VALLDEMOSSA & DEIÀ TAXI TOUR

Valldemosa tour is a visit to a beautiful village hidden in the mountains. In
the village we will visit La Cartuja monastery which is situated in the
center. Chopin and his lover George Sands lived there for a while. Besides being
a royal palace for for the king Sancho of Majorca.  Then a stop at the view
point of Sa Foradada which is on the way to Deià. A visit to Cala Deia, and it’s
picturesque pebble beach. Finally a stop at LLucalcari ( smallest village on the
island). Which consist of little more than a bend in the road from Deia to
Soller.

BINIAGUAL TAXI TOUR

Biniagual tour is a pleasant drive through the mountains. Visiting the small
villages such as Bunyola, a village at the foot of the mountains. Next up,
Orient, a remote sleepy village with around thirty inhabitants. Alaró and
Binissalem are a bit bigger and in the wine area of Majorca. Finally on to
Biniagual a hamlet owned by one person. He started buying the properties there
one by one eventually acquiring everthing including the church.

CAVES & PEARL FACTORY TAXI TOUR

Porto Cristo indeed has some of the most remarkable caves on Island. Such as the
Caves of Drac, clearly a must with four caves in one. Also with its natural
underground lake (lake Martel). The Caves of Hams, besides being a bit smaller
are also very impressive aswell. Manacor town also Houses the Majórica Pearl
factory. Finally a visit to the blue shop. Indeed a place to try the local fruit
liqueurs free of charge and maybe buy a souvenir or two.

type of places that you would like to visit. This tour also starting in Palma
but can finish anywhere you like.

 

SOME OTHER PLACES OF INTEREST

 * TRAIN :  The Train to Sóller. Undoubtedly a must to go through the mountains
   on this old 1912 electrical train. In addition to travelling through farm
   land, olive and almond groves. It also stops in the mountains to take a photo
   or two of the fantastic views. Once arrived in Sóller you can not only stay
   and explore this beutiful village but also then take the orange grove tram to
   the port.
 * WATER PARKS :   Aquacity, Western, Hydropark.  
 * ANIMAL LOVERS :   Palma Aquarium, Marineland, Auto Safari Zoo, La Reserva and
   Natura Park.
 * CAVES : Drac, Hams,  Artà, Campanet, Gènova.  
 * MUSEUMS Large ones out of Palma :   La Granja, Els Calderers, Monastery of
   Lluc are just a few of many.  
 * EVENING SHOWS :  Son Amar,  Pirates Adventure and Es Fogueró.
 * Jungle park :  Largest tree adventure park in Majorca. Being not far from the
   marina in Santa Ponsa it’s easy to get to.
 * Glass factory:  There are now two glass factories outside of Palma : Gordiola
   Glass factory and Museum on the road to Manacor and the Lafiore on the Road
   to Valldemossa.
