Facilitated by IM-Certified trainers, the focus of the various sessions include: establishing routines, experiencing the problem-based learning, curriculum overview for teachers and preparing to teach a unit. This event will be limited to the first 25 attendees who sign up for each 6-8 and 9-12. After that, additional sign-ups will be added to a wait list in case any of the initial 25 attendees cannot attend. There is a minimum of 10 registrations per each grade band to run the event. If the minimum is not met, the event will be canceled. We will communicate with you if you have been added to the wait list or if there has been any cancelations. Date & Time: January 23-26, 2023 5:30-7:30 pm CT (1 session per day for 4 days) Location: Virtually via Zoom Cost: $800 each participant for 8 hours of training. In these 3 IM-Certified sessions, teachers will plan for an upcoming section in their grade level unit. They will understand the overarching learning goals of the section to create a plan for pacing of the lessons. Teachers will also learn a replicable process for planning and adjusting components of a lesson to support students’ understanding of the mathematical ideas. CryptoClub presents students with engaging games and activities used to crack secret codes and further their individual mathematical skills and understanding. You will experience the entire curriculum the same way your future participants will, with a focus on teaching and learning driven by students making sense of phenomena and developing solutions to problems. The Facilitator days of the launch will provide you with all the tools and information you need to successfully lead the curriculum with your group. By the end of the launch, you will be prepared to facilitate this professional learning on your own, with confidence and expertise. Logistics * Professional learning listed in the above teacher section * Three additional days of virtual professional learning via Zoom – February 3rd, 10th, 17th from 12 PM -3 PM EST * $1750 for individuals, $1500 per person for organizations sending 3 or more individuals * Optional OpenSciEd Facilitator Micro-Credentials* ($500) * Continuing Education and Graduate Credits are available!
