Begin Application Program Overview The Missouri State Assistance For Housing Relief (SAFHR) for Homeowners program will assist in preserving homeownership and creating housing stability by preventing foreclosure and displacement for Missourians in need through the U.S. Treasury’s Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF). The state of Missouri received $138 million from this fund to provide relief to homeowners whose finances have been negatively impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be used for mortgage reinstatement assistance and monthly mortgage assistance paid directly to loan servicers. Individuals must have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19 and have household income at or below 150 percent of the area median income (AMI). Requirements * Homeowner must attest to inability to pay mortgage due to a financial hardship after January 21, 2020. * Homeowner must have a total annual household income within 150 percent of the area median income or 100 percent of the U.S. median income, whichever is greater. * Property must be occupied as the primary residence. * Property must be located in the state of Missouri. * Eligible structures include: single-family homes (attached or detached) and manufactured housing mortgaged as real property. * Homeowner agrees to provide all necessary documentation to satisfy program guidelines established by SAFHR for Homeowners.
