     It looks like Westin has acquired another contender quality hotels in the
     DC area. It is near everything and very self-contained. The weather was
     horrific when I arrived but since the facility has everything you might
     need we hunkered down and enjoyed a dry day indoors. During a conference,
     the facility excelled with venues for the meeting rooms and some very
     strong catering for some of the events. Enjoyable and only wish there were
     more vegetarian and vegan options on the menues.

     Had a great stay here for 1 night traveling for work - everything was
     exactly what I needed. Clean, quiet room with a very comfortable bed. Staff
     was very friendly, warm, and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate staying here
     again or recommending to friends/colleagues.

     My experience was great! The front desk staff was very welcoming, even the
     trainee! Loved the bar & the overall cleanliness of the building & room.
     Don’t let the outside discourage you, I was a little disappointed at first
     but once I was inside, I knew I made a good choice. Two things I would
     mention is that I requested a room with a tub & was told it was reserved
     but I was given a room with a shower. The other is the service at the bar
     lacked in the evening, we sat for 20 minutes and no one greeted us. There
     was an event I assume based on the crowd so I don’t fully blame them but it
     would have been nice to not have to travel out of the hotel for cocktails.
     Overall, great experience & would definitely recommend.

     The first person to greet me was Richard. Wow, he was so kind, big huge
     smile and helped with the bags, walked me to checkin, offered directions
     and safely delivered my bags to the room because I was running late. It was
     some of the best customer service I’ve ever had. He gets a 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
     Hotel bar is gorgeous.
     Centrally locates to many restaurants but we wanted room service the first
     night and was delivered in about 30 mins.
     
     Overall it was a great experience.

     DESTINATION FEES AND OVERCHARGES
     
     The hotel itself is nice, and the location is great, but we are very upset
     about their destination fees and dealing with the hassle of getting our
     bill corrected.
     
     The woman who checked us in did not explain any of the amenities included
     with their mandatory "destination fees". We feel like she intentionally did
     not tell us about them to maximize their profits. After contacting Marriott
     Bonvoy and the hotel manager about this oversight, they didn't offer
     anything to compensate or make up for it. The manager threw it back on us
     stating the fee is "mentioned online as well at the time of booking".
     Really?? We booked the hotel months ago with our reward points, and so
     forgot about the destination fee.
     
     Then, our bill charged us for premium wifi, and some weird rate per night,
     which as stated before we used points, and as Marriott Bonvoy Platinum
     Elite members, premium wifi is always included. Had to waste time on the
     phone to get it corrected and have our credit card refunded, which a little
     over a week now they finally did.
     
     Overall we’re disappointed at their lack of customer service, and our
     Bonvoy status apparently means nothing.

     BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
     
     The hotel has been beautifully remodeled. The staff are friendly and

     STUNNING REMODEL
     
     Enjoyed coming here previously due to location from Capitol. Common areas
     all redone and updated. The rooms are stunning!
     
     Also very happy that DC decided to clean up the area around the hotel as
     there was a huge homeless camp ruining the nearby church and its grounds.
     And this was beginning to spill into the rest of the neighborhood. That was
     completely gone and made the area surrounding the hotel seem safe again.

     HIDDEN TAXES AND IMPROPER BILLING
     
     Watch your bill. The staff lacks adequate training and even attempts to
     correct my bill in person didn’t work. They will also charge you and
     additional $35 per night in transient taxes even if you pay with points.
     This tax is not included in your reservation.
