WE’RE SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE.

We were never meant to carry this alone. By reaching for each other, we find the
courage and support to face what needs tending, keep our hearts open, and return
to what matters most. Our gatherings honor all forms of grief including from
losses, change and transitions, sorrows for our world (environmental, political,
racial, cultural loss), loss of village and belonging, ancestral grief, and
anything else present. There is no grief too big or too small for our circles.

ABOUT US:



Northwest Grief Tending supports individual and collective healing by welcoming
grief back into community space. We are part of a community grief tending
movement inspired by the legacy of Sobonfu and Malidoma Some of the Dagara
people of West Africa. In their culture and many traditional cultures, grief
rituals are considered the “glue” of connection that holds the community
together. 

We believe that mending our culture of separation is essential for restoring our
collective wellbeing and for responding to the converging crises of our times.
Community grief tending offers us one of the most powerful means for reweaving
our connection and belonging to ourselves, each other, and all our relations.

Thank you to those who are showing up for yourselves and for others to do this
work. It takes courage, and we cannot do this without each and every one of you.
And for those who are new to grief work, we’d love to hear from you. Please
don’t hesitate to reach out for support or with any questions you might have.
