OUR REMIT

IS TO HELP ALL PEOPLE INJURED IN A HORSE RELATED ACCIDENT WHEN NO OTHER HELP IS
READILY AVAILABLE.

Mark Davies was an event rider who died as a result of an accident at the
Burghley Horse Trials in 1988. His parents, Jane and Michael, decided to
establish The Fund in his memory, to help injured riders.   The fund also
campaigns on safety and raises awareness of issues affecting equestrians of all
levels.

There are thousands of people involved with horses in the UK, whether for
pleasure or as a career. An unforeseen accident can happen at anytime, when
riding, mucking out, leading a horse, or just working around the stables.
Unfortunately, that accident may become a life changing event. With years of
experience and a wealth of contacts, we strive to help people adapt to their
situation and regain some independence in their life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS



1. WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

Because we have a very small administration team, the majority of your donation
goes to help injured riders. If you add gift aid, we receive an extra 25% on top
of your donation from the government.

2. WHAT IS GIFT AID

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs
(CASCs) to claim from HMRC, the basic rate of tax their donors have paid. Gift
Aid increases the value of donations by 25%, so it means even more money goes to
the causes you care about – and it won’t cost you extra.

3. CAN I FUNDRAISE FOR YOU ON FACEBOOK?

Of Course. You can create a fundraiser on your own page which will show on the
MDIRF Facebook page. Go to our Facebook page for more info.

4. HOW DO I KNOW THAT YOU ARE A GENUINE CHARITY?

The fund is registered with the Charity Commission Registered Charity Number :
1022281. You can check our details and also verify our contact details on the
