Great deal which included breakfast. Location is superb, we were able to do multiple shopping trips haha. Staff are an absolute delight, especially Ciara on reception. Rooms are absolutely fabulous, booked a twin and got a double and single bed. Incredibly comfortable beds and loved the walk in shower, only thing was the frosted bathroom door doesn't give much privacy. Breakfast was nice but limited on hot food choice - did appreciate being able to change egg option. Plus breakfast is only til 10am. Definitely would book to stay here again :) read moreread less Sightseer49206 11/23/2022 Perfect for my stag read moreread less Ronan O'Sullivan 4/04/2019 Nice place nice comfortable rooms spacious can't fault the hotel read moreread less Thomas Gorry 4/04/2018 * This hotel is a real hidden gem.The receptionist was real friendly, rooms are very cosy and clean This hotel is a real gem of a hotel hidden in a corner of the city.Staff are super friendly, food is delicious and the rooms are spotless.Very close to city centre.Loved the interior of the hotel and will definitely be staying here again.I would recommend this hotel read moreread less Bernard F 2/25/2022 Hotel is perfectly situated right odd Eyre Sq which makes is easy to move about by foot. The staff within the hotel are friendly and the rooms were clean and beds comfy. Food from the bar was amazing as wore the coctails, they lost a star cause of the bill system and kept getting orders mixed up and tried to charge for drinks we didn't order, this may be a staff communication issue but it was the only downfall. read moreread less Philip Hall 8/02/2021 Great location, good staff and a nice bar read moreread less Robert McGivney 10/04/2021 * This hotel is a handy central location in the city, very close to the train and bus stations. The breakfast was very good good choice of food, the staff in the room where they served breakfast were very good, polite & helpful . one of the best things about this hotel is its location, it's close to the shops & the station is just around the corner, their is a good fish & chip shop in the town called MCDonagh's which is good value. read moreread less Philip L 5/22/2022 Phenomenal employees who make this hotel v special. It was absolutely excellent from Start to finish. Everywhere we met the hotel staff from initial reception to the housekeeping and restaurant/bar staff, they went over and above in terms of helpfulness, and friendliness and genuine care and attention. I cannot think of more outstanding staff across the board in all the hotels I have been in in Ireland and there has been many through work. The location obviously could not have been better. OK, this was a nice enough hotel with an excellent location. The only strange thing that i'd never experienced before was at the breakfast. When we asked for coffee - we both drink coffee, 99% of the time we would get a pot of coffee brought to the table. Here at this hotel, we were given a cup of boiling water each, with 2 sachets of instant dried coffee. This is the little coffee packet you would find next to your kettle in the room. To get a proper cup, we were told we needed to pay 3 euro per cup. I've never experienced this before, otherwise its a nice hotel. read moreread less Pipermans 4/20/2022 Excellent location and recently refurbished I had read mixed reviews about Victoria Hotel so wasn’t sure about my hotel choice. The poor reviews and photos seem to have been from before the renovations so if you’re looking at traveller photos, look at the date as only the newer photos really apply. The staff in the hotel are really friendly and we had no issues at all during our stay. Our room was spotless and the only thing I’d change is the chance to cool it down with air conditioning as it was a little hot at night even with the window open. The hotel is perfectly located just off Eyre Square. It’s not noisy at night considering how close it is to the square. We dined 1 of the evenings in the bar and the food was fantastic. It was a nice atmosphere in the bar with all staff adhering to Covid guidelines etc. It was table service only for drinks but the staff were very efficient and we didn’t go without once Breakfast was a very nice on both mornings. Had to book a time slot but had no issue getting a time we wanted Just a tip. We priced our stay on Booking .com and phoned up the Victoria to see could they match it. Not only could they offer a better rate, they added breakfast and free parking (our parking bill was €37 for the weekend) so we got a great deal... Will return whenever in Galway. I stayed with my 15-year-old granddaughter for two nights. I loved its accessibility to the train, first of all. We had a brilliant deal for those over 55 staying for 2 nights with 2 breakfasts and 2 full, delicious dinners. Our waitress, Dearbhla, became our guide and best pal. She found out we had come from Kilkee and brought out the lovely cook, Celine, to meet us because she hailed from there. Dearblha went out of her way to get to know us and made a list of all the shops and places to get the things we were after. Celine's cuisine was delicious and beautifully arranged. The girl at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, was also very accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. Location is just off Eyre Square and most city attractions are within walking distance. Parking is available at nearby car park which may be complementary depending on what deal you made on your booking. The hotel may be a bit more expensive than some rivals but we feel it was worth it. The hotel appeared to be very well maintained and plenty of Covid precautions available, although it was a pity that the hand gel dispenser at the main door did not work at any time over the 3 days. First impressions!!. Staff were excellent and most courteous, from the housekeeping lady that allowed me jump the Que for the lift when I was bringing in the luggage to the reception staff that sorted out my parking. The room was spotlessly clean and very well presented, although we both got a bit of a stale air smell when we entered the room as if it had not been opened up for a few days. Maybe good in these Covid times but again First Impressions. The room was serviced each day with fresh towels and a general clean up. Breakfast was table service and excellent both in variety and quality as well as quantity. They must have very good kitchen staff because we ate in the hotel for lunch one day and each night also and the fare was excellent. Same menu each night but there was enough for us to sample a variety of dishes. Lovely extensive breakfast with so much food and choice, we left stuffed so we weren't hungry all day. Dinner the evening before was pretty tasty. Victoria is a city hotel stuck down in a tight spot but very close to Eyre Square, and all the centre of activities in the city, and its staff and workers are all very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom wasn't huge but the beds were comfortable, having a bath and a shower in the spacious bathroom was wonderful, loads of hot water and all you could need. The decor is tasteful, everything worked. The window was pretty dirty but as it's mid-winter and it was dark when we got in, following a hospital appointment, we pulled the very heavy curtains and slept very well.
