A CAT CAN BE THE MOST WONDERFUL PET YOU EVER HAVE. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SURPRISED
BY THAT, SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY STORIES OF CATS BEING SNOBBY OR TOO
INDEPENDENT. HOWEVER, THE TRUTH IS THAT CATS CAN B

Create a warm bed for an outdoor or feral cat by lining a banana box with a
thick layer of newspaper. Cut a piece of Mylar to fit the bottom of the box. Put
another layer of newspaper on top. Add a warm blanket. Place the whole box
inside a dog house or under a porch where it can't get wet.

Visit your local shelter if you're thinking about getting a cat. Shelters
usually have many cats who need a home, and the fees typically include their
shots and spaying or neutering. When adopting a shelter cat, you're saving a
life and aiding in controlling the cat population.

Make sure your cat sees a vet regularly to maintain their good health. A routine
check-up should happen annually, and more often if necessary shots are due. Cats
need to be seen by a vet right away if there are injuries or health problems
that don't go away.

Realize that cats do not normally pant. Dogs pant to keep cool. If a cat pants,
it's a sign of trouble. Your cat could be very anxious or in pain. Likewise,
rapid breathing is a sign of pain or anxiety. Be sure to contact your vet right
away if your cat starts panting.

Although depicted in countless movies and cartoons, milk is not the best source
of nutrition for your cat. Once cats have grown, they do not need milk as a
regular part of their diet. Milk can cause stomach distress and bloating.
Instead of giving your cat milk, always have fresh, clean water available to
them instead.

Don't be pushy when you are getting to know your new cat. Cats prefer to be in
control and take things at their own pace. Make sure your new cat is comfortable
and safe. Let your cat take its time exploring its new environment. When your
cat feels at home, it will be more likely to try to make friends with you.

For a healthier, happier cat choose plain litter over scented litter. Cats like
nice, clean, clumping cat litter. Scoop your cats litter box daily and change it
completely every three days or so. When you change the box, wash it out with
water and dish soap. Don't waste your money on liners as cats tend to destroy
them.

If you find you cat is harming furniture or other objects, it may be bored. Keep
a few safe toys around for your cat to play with. Scratching posts can also
deter your cat from scratching your furniture. Or, build a small cat house out
of cardboard. Your cat will love having a place to hide, and the cardboard can
also be used to scratch on!

To make sure your kitten is properly socialized to humans, begin early in his
life, about ten to twelve weeks of age. Be sure that he is handled and petted by
humans in his family and by others as well. When he is older, he will be a
calmer, friendlier cat.

When you introduce a new cat into your home, you have to be careful with how
your other cat reacts. Try giving the new cat a little space in one room at
first, and then introduce him to the rest of the house. Make 스웨디시 to have
different litter boxes at first too. If you ease the new cat in, it will go more
smoothly for everyone.

Consider buying your cat a special drinking fountain. Most cats will prefer
drinking water that is running over drinking water in a bowl. Streaming water is
your best bet. Actually, certain cats like to drink right from the sink faucet
as it runs. A fountain will allow your cat to have the happiness of drinking
from running water.

Cats can brighten the life of most people, but only if the person knows how to
properly take care of their cat. This article has hopefully given you some ideas
about how you can do that. If you apply these tips to your own cat, you'll find
that your cat is the best friend you ever had.
