HENRY SALUTES AMERICA’S MOST DECORATED LIVING VETERAN

On May 16, during the NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction in Dallas, Texas, that
preceded opening of the 2024 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits the President of
Henry Repeating Arms—one of America’s leading firearms manufacturers—took the
stage. There, he made a special announcement.

He presented U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, America’s most decorated living
veteran, with limited-edition New Original Silver Deluxe Engraved Henry
Repeating Arms rifle in honor of his service and to underscore the company’s
commitment to honoring American heroes and celebrating their legacy. Gen. Brady,
a native Texan, is one of only two living veterans to hold both the Medal of
Honor and the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation’s highest and
second-highest military awards.

Brady served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, flying two tours of
duty, the first with the 57th Medical Detachment and the second with the 54th
Medical Detachment. During his two tours, Brady flew more than 2,000 combat
missions and evacuated more than 5,000 wounded. His Medal of Honor citation,
awarded for actions on Jan. 6, 1968, reads in part, “…Maj. Brady distinguished
himself while serving in the Republic of Vietnam commanding a UH-1H ambulance
helicopter, volunteered to rescue wounded men from a site in enemy held
territory which was reported to be heavily defended and to be blanketed by fog…
Throughout that day Maj. Brady utilized 3 helicopters to evacuate a total of 51
seriously wounded men, many of whom would have perished without prompt medical
treatment.”

“It is heroes like General Brady who inspire us to strive for excellence in all
pursuits and to commit ourselves to the values we hold dear,” said Andrew
Wickstrom, president of Henry Repeating Arms. “He exemplifies courage and the
highest level of devotion to his team and the world around him, which should
stand as a model for all Americans. In honor of his service and dedication, I am
privileged to present this symbol of our appreciation and unending respect—a
rifle that embodies the always-reaching spirit of our workforce.”

The 1-of-1,000 New Original Henry Silver Deluxe Engraved rifle, the crown jewel
of the Henry Repeating Arms catalog, embodies the spirit of tradition and
craftsmanship that the company is renowned for. It features exquisite engraving,
highly figured genuine American walnut furniture and a period-correct octagonal
blued steel barrel polished to a mirror-like finish. Based on the original
patent for the world’s first successful repeating rifle, the piece was chosen as
a symbol of the company’s gratitude for Gen. Brady’s contributions to the nation
and the freedoms for which it stands.
