applicable for escooters purchased on Klarna interest-free option.
What is the minimum age required to ride an adult electric scooter?
We do not recommend that someone under the age of 16 rides an adult-sized
e-scooter, unless specifically recommended by the brand.
Is it possible to travel with an electric scooter?
As most e-scooters have a folding mechanism, they can easily be taken on public
and private transport.

However, we always advise checking the policy of the transport company before
travelling. Please note that due to restrictions on transporting batteries, most
of the products in our range cannot be taken on an aircraft.
Is it legal to use an electric scooter in the UK
It's illegal to use an escooter on public roads, pavements, in cycle lanes and
in pedestrianised areas. The Government did bring forward trials of legalised
escooter use on roads in “4Future Transport Zones”. But this only applies to
escooters used legally as part of these trials, for the duration of the trials.

This is currently under UK Government review with a number of cities trialling
the use of rental e-scooters. Unfortunately, we're unable to provide information
on when these trials will come to a conclusion or what the results will be.

However, you can stay tuned by keeping an eye on our blog – there we publish the
latest essential information related to e-scooter legality in the UK.
Is there a speed limit on electric scooters?
Yes, the max speed for an escooter is 15.5mph according to the government. In
some areas this may be reduced to a lower max speed.
Is it possible to get insurance on an electric scooter?
As privately-owned e-scooters are illegal to ride on public highways in the UK
at the moment, it is not possible to get insurance on them for use outside of
your home or on private land.

For use at home they can be covered under your standard home insurance policy.
If you are unsure if yours is covered, please check with your insurance
provider.
Does the rider have to be under the weight limit?
We don't recommend that you use an e-scooter if you're close to or over the
weight limit. E-scooters are designed to work properly and safely up to a
maximum weight – often called a 'maximum load'. Usage beyond this weight (e.g. a
95kg rider with a 10kg backpack riding an e-scooter rated to carry up to 100kg)
can be hazardous and void the warranty, while increasing wear and tear on
important components.
Can an electric scooter be used in the rain?
This depends on the model's IP rating (e.g. IP65), where the second digit refers
to water resistance.

Generally, a rating of 5 or higher indicates good water resistance – models
carrying this rating can usually be ridden in the rain.

Currently, you can find wet weather-ready rating of IP65 featured in our own
Eagle Scooter range.

Remember: it's always worth checking that the model's warranty also covers water
resistance to the IP rating standard. This is a good sign of the manufacturer's
confidence in the quality of its products and ensures that you'll be covered if
something goes wrong.
Do I need a driving license to use an escooter?
You will need a category Q entitlement on your driving licence to use an
escooter, which means you can drive a “2-wheeled and 3-wheeled vehicle without
pedals”. This includes restrictions like:

An engine size no bigger than 50cc if powered by an internal combustion engine a
max speed of 15.5mph Or you will need a full or provisional UK driving licence
for categories AM, A or B.
Do I need to display L plates on an escooter?
No, if you have a provisional licence you don't need to display L plates.
Do I need to wear a helmet when driving an escooter?
It's highly recommended that you wear a helmet when driving an escooter.

Klarna

Klarna finance
We've partnered with Klarna to provide the following finance options to help
split the cost over time:

"Pay in 3" splits the overall cost of your purchase into three equal sums. The
first is taken at time of purchase, with the second and third payments taken 30
and 60 days respectively.

Please note that the details here are representative examples only, and not all
options will be available on all products.
How to pay with Klarna
Paying with Klarna is easy. All you need to do is follow these steps:

 1. Add your product(s) to your basket
 2. Proceed to checkout
 3. Enter address details
 4. Enter shipping method
 5. Proceed to payment method
 6. Select 'Pay with Klarna'
 7. Click 'complete order'

You'll then be taken through to the Klarna portal where you'll be asked to
choose which Klarna payment option you wish to go with. Please bear in mind that
not all finance options are available on all products.

Klarna application declined
We're sorry to hear you've been unable to finalise payment with our finance
partner Klarna. Unfortunately, as Klarna is the payment provider, we have no
further visibility on its process.

In order to verify your identity and to make decisions regarding credit, Klarna
looks at data from a large range of sources, so there could be a few reasons why
this wouldn't process.

If you have any queries, we recommend calling the Klarna customer helpline on
0203 005 0833 or visiting its customer service centre, as its experts will be
best placed to give you any answers you may need: Klarna Help.

We're sorry that we cannot assist further in this case.
The price has changed since ordering
Product prices can change from day to day – moving up and down according to a
number of factors. If you bought your product and then the price changed soon
after outside of a promotion or sale period, you will be charged the amount
shown at point of purchase, as agreed in good faith.

Sometimes prices can drop for a specific promotion, planned sale period, or in
response to market fluctuations. We're very sorry if you bought your item then
found it at a reduced price soon after. We sincerely appreciate any
frustrations, but because promotions and sales are limited events, they fall
outside of our Price Match Promise terms, so unfortunately we cannot offer a
price match.
Delivery

We are sorry but we don't currently ship outside of the UK. We are working to
resolve this.
Order placed over the weekend
If you place an order over the weekend (any time after 2pm on the Friday), your
order will not be dispatched until Monday.
Is it possible to change the delivery address?
Unfortunately due to the speed at which we process orders, it's not possible to
change the delivery address once an order has been placed.
Not going to be in for delivery?
If you know that you will not be in when the delivery is scheduled, you can
leave a signed note on your door instructing the driver where to go with the
package – either to a safe place or to be left with a neighbour. If you do not
leave a note, the driver will reattempt delivery the next working day.

Important: Neither Eagle Scooters nor the delivery partner is responsible for
the security of your item once delivered if you choose this option.
Missed delivery? What happens next?
If you miss your delivery the courier will attempt another the following day. If
you miss two redelivery attempts, the items will be returned to our warehouse.
Tracking shows delivered but the order has not been received
If you miss your delivery the courier will attempt another the following day. If
you miss two redelivery attempts, the items will be returned to our warehouse.
Amend an order
We appreciate that sometimes our customers can accidentally add the incorrect
item to their bag before checkout. Unfortunately, sometimes we are not able to
amend orders due to the speed at which we process them. In these cases, if you
no longer require or want the item, you will need to refuse the delivery so that
the items are returned back to us free of charge.
What are the delivery timescales and cost?
UK
Delivery to UK on our e-scooters is FREE and in three working days.

ROW
We are sorry but we don't currently ship outside of the UK. We are working to

Product support

E-scooters require minimal setup time, normally needing just the handlebars or
stem of the e-scooter to be attached. The tools and bolts needed come packaged
with the e-scooter.
How often should an electric scooter be serviced?
How often you need to service your e-scooter will depend on how often you use
it.

If you are using your e-scooter every day we recommend checking it over once a
week. Ensure that the tyre pressures are correct, there are no signs of excess
wear and tear on key components and that all screws and bolts are securely
fastened according to any instructions.
Can an electric scooter be left on charge overnight?
Yes, all the e-scooters that we sell have an automatic cut off in the battery
management system that will stop charging when the battery is full. We recommend
keeping your battery charged up at every opportunity.

Regular charging is better for overall battery health and will help to increase
the lifespan of the battery.
How long does an electric scooter take to charge?
The charge time on your e-scooter will vary based on the size of the battery and
power of the charger. In most cases it is between 3-8 hours, from zero charge.
How long does an e-scooter battery last?
For everyday battery life: This strongly depends on the capacity of the battery,
as well as other factors such as the quality of the cells, the way they are used
and maintained, and the conditions that they're used in.

For the life of the battery before it needs replacing: Most batteries in
e-scooters are lithium ion-based. This is the same basic technology as used in
contemporary phones and laptops. They have a long lifespan and do not suffer
from 'battery memory'.

As a guide, most lithium ion batteries will last for 1,000 charge cycles before
you see a noticeable drop off in performance. This will change based on the
manufacturer and quality of the cells in the battery, how you are using it and
whether you are using good practices to extend the battery health.
How to kick start an electric scooter
In order to kick start your e-scooter, you'll need to get some momentum first by
pushing off the ground with your foot. Once rolling forwards, press the
accelerator gently and the motor should start working to power you forwards.
What country plug / charger is included?
As standard we make sure that all of our products sold within the UK come with a
UK three-pin plug.
Electric scooter range or speed reduction
We're sorry to hear that you are having issues with your e-scooter.

Many e-scooters have an 'eco' mode that will significantly reduce the
performance of the e-scooter, but save battery life in the process. Please check
to see if your e-scooter is in this mode. If so, consult the user manual for
details on how to change it to a more powerful setting.

If your e-scooter has air-filled tyres, please ensure that all tyres are
inflated to the correct pressures. The pressures can often be found on the
sidewall of the tyre or in the user manual.

If your e-scooter is continually going slow, there could be a fault, or the
e-scooter may simply not be the right one for you. If this is the case, please
contact support@eaglescooters.co.uk and our staff will look to resolve this for
you.
Electric scooter battery drop
If you're experiencing a battery drop with an Eagle Scooters product, please
note that our engineers have found that the battery icon on the display unit
will demonstrate how hard the battery is working, rather than how much battery
power is left.

For example, if the e-scooter is running for prolonged periods, at high speed,
up hills or at colder temperatures, you're likely to see the battery cells drop.
Once the battery has been rested, the cells should start to increase again.

Please rest assured, as long as the e-scooter has been charged to full capacity
(where the light indicator on your charging unit has gone green) your e-scooter
will continue to power to its full range.

If your e-scooter is underperforming, the most common reason will be due to
having underinflated tyres. If the tyres are low and aren't fully inflated, this
causes the e-scooter to work much harder, which will inevitably cause your
battery to drain faster. The required pressure can often be found on the
sidewall of the tyre or in the user manual.

Being in an 'eco' mode will also have an impact on the e-scooter's performance.
To switch through the modes, simply double tap the power button. You should then
notice a difference. Further to this, we also advise charging your e-scooter to
full capacity before any journey. This will be shown when the indicator on your
charging unit turns green.

It is also worth noting that the temperature will affect battery performance, so
in colder conditions over winter, you may find that the range is lower than
usual. This is down to the chemical makeup of the batteries and performance
should return to normal once the temperature rises once again.
Where to find the stem bolts for an electric scooter
If you're struggling to locate the screws for your e-scooter, these are either
in a small white bag taped to the e-scooter, the handlebar grips, or inside the
box.
Flat tyres
Unfortunately, punctures can occur due to a number of factors, such as the
surface of the road, sharp objects, use with incorrect/low tyre pressures,
excess tyre wear and excess e-scooter load.

One of the best things you can do to avoid punctures is ensure the tyre
pressures are regularly checked and maintained at the manufacturers recommended
level. You can usually find the required pressures stamped on the sidewall of
the tyres. Keeping them topped up will make it harder for sharp objects to enter
the tyre, prevent pinch flats and allow puncture prevention fluid (if you have
it installed) to work at its best.

Punctures and flat tyres (even those filled with puncture prevention fluid) are
not covered by returns or warranty as they are considered 'consumable' parts
which can be prone to wear and tear over time.
What is the recommended tyre pressure for an Eagle Scooter?
The recommended tyre pressure for maximum performance is 37 PSI. It is important
to check your tyre pressure regularly as a low pressure can contribute towards
an increased risk of punctures and reduce the speed and range of your e-scooter.
Grip is coming up on an electric scooter
In particularly high temperatures it is not uncommon for some grips to start to
peel away, due to the type of adhesive used.

In most cases, simply pushing the grip back down and applying a firm pressure is
enough to put it back to where it should be.

Alternatively, a small amount of glue is enough to help it stick. Doing this
yourself will not void your warranty.
Charger not working
In order to confirm if your charger is working, please plug it in to both the
wall and the e-scooter. If the product is not fully charged there should be a
red light on the charger or battery that turns green once charging is complete.
Warranty

Need to register an Eagle Scooters warranty?
If you own an Eagle Scooter, your scooter has been automatically registered
under warranty beginning from the date of purchase and you do not need to do
anything further.

Eagle Scooters include a 12-month warranty against original defects in material
and workmanship from the date of receipt. This covers the cost of labour and
parts required to maintain your e-scooter in proper working order for the 12
month warranty period.
Warranty for accessories
The warranty on accessories varies from product to product and not all
accessories are covered under warranty. The best place to find out if your
product is covered under warranty is either in the user manual that came with
the product, or to check the product page on our site, under the 'Warranty' tab.

If you are still unsure, please contact support@eaglescooters.co.uk and one of
our customer advisors will be able to help you.
Who is the warranty provider?
If your Eagle Scooter is registered under warranty and is covered for repair, it
will be repaired at no cost by Eagle Scooters. To read the full details for your
Eagle scooter, please scroll to the bottom of the appropriate product page:

Eagle Scooters
How can a customer claim on the warranty?

If you would like to claim on your warranty, please email
support@eaglescooters.co.uk with your order number in the subject line. Please
include a description of the issue you are encountering and a video or photos
that best show the issue. One of our customer service agents will then be in
contact and confirm the next steps.

Please note: Consumable items are not included as part of your warranty. Some of
these are outlined below:

 * Tyres
 * Inner tubes
 * Rubber foot rest
 * Handlebar grips
 * Brake cables
 * Brake pads
 * Paint
 * Rubber bungs

Warranty T&Cs
The warranty is void if:

The e-scooter has been ridden in puddles deeper than 2 inches
The e-scooter has not been maintained properly (e.g. unchanged punctures and
missing parts)
The e-scooter has been misused (e.g. has been ridden by a rider weighing over
the stated weight limit)
The e-scooter was ridden to do stunts or jumps on
The e-scooter has been serviced or modified by anyone other than an authorised
partner

Are punctures covered under warranty?
Unfortunately, punctures are not covered under warranty as tyres and tubes –
even those filled with puncture prevention fluid – are considered 'consumable'
parts (subject to wear and tear).
Problems with an e-scooter?
We're sorry to hear you're having an issue with your product. Please email
support@eaglescooters.co.uk with details of the issue that you're experiencing.
Please include your order number in the subject of your email and any photos or
videos that will help demonstrate the issue you are encountering.

If you're outside the first 30 days since your purchase, we'll help you to make
a warranty claim for any manufacturing faults that may have arisen during your
ownership.
Spare parts
We try to stock a large range of spare parts, unfortunately it is not possible
to stock parts for every model we sell however we will do our best to help you
find the part required should we not have it in stock.
Where is the serial number located on an electric scooter?
To find your serial number, please check on the bottom or side of the e-scooter,
printed on a label or in the e-scooter's companion app.
