MARI 2 SONG



All in whole, Maari 2 is nowhere near to Maari but is an entertaining one time
watch.

His tamil accent was fine but the modulation could have been better. The
character Beeja was safe in Tovino's hands even in the second part with a new
attire. Tovino Thomas, who plays the antagonist was excellent in parts but the
repeated dialogues and style made a bit boring. Kreshna's character was also
commendable and his performance too. Varalaxmi Sharathkumar was fine, but the
screen space were less. Almost all the lady characters has got its space to
performance. Sai Pallavi as Anandhi, the naughty and bold character delivered
her finest performance and was a worth to watch. Dhanush totally rocked in his
role with his macho attire and looks, dialogue delivery and his power packed
perfromances. Action choreography was also convincing whole throughout the
movie. Yuvan Shankar Raja's background score was appreciable and he really did a
good job to the nature of the movie. The dance choreography is commendable
mainly in Rowdy Baby which is already a chart buster but the placement was not
convincing. The comedy works out well even in the sentimental / serious scenes.

Maari 2 is a total blend of comedy, mass scenes, action and sentiments. Maari 2
showcases the Naughty & Whacky Goon with a golden heart which is a dud. The
scripting could have been much more better especially in the second half where
it is reminded me of Thangamagan. He tried to make as entertaining as possible
like any masala movies. Balaji Mohan's direction and narration is nothing new in
tamil movies but it didn't lose its steam in any moment. Maari 2 mainly revolves
around the life of maari, the reign, the reformation and the resurrection.

He always roams around with his sidekicks Sani & Adithangi. Apart from the first
part, we have new characters like Kalai (his longtime bestie), Anandhi (his love
interest), Vijaya (the collector),etc. Mari, the don who kills, smuggles for his
living but treats well the people around him and he values his relationships.
But this time Yuvan Shankar Raja replaces Anirudh Ravichander as the Music
Director. Total Difference: 2m 57s (UK version: 143m 20s - International
Version: 146m 17s)Īfter the success of Maari, Balaji Mohan and Dhanush teams up
again for Maari 2.

The final showdown was cut short the distributor removed all sight of Maari
hitting the antagonist in the face with chains and then purposely striking his
spine repeatedly till it breaks in an act of revenge violence.įollowing these
changes this edited version of the film was passed 12A uncut upon a formal
submission (The uncut version has never been submitted to the BBFC but was
passed uncut at 15A in Ireland). The fight before the interval block inside the
chapel was reduced sight of Maari stabbing a man in the chest was removed, along
with sight of Maari being stabbed in the back twice. The shootings of Maari's
rival and his henchmen was reduced to remove all sight of the bullet impacts. A
flashback sequence to the antagonist's time in prison was also reduced removing
all sight of his teeth being forcefully extracted along with sight of him taking
revenge by stabbing and slashing opponents (this includes shots of non-detailed
stab wounds). A short-while later as Maari is introduced the distributor removed
sight of an hatchet impacting a man's chest and all sight of Maari hitting
opponents with hammers. During the opening sequence in which the antagonist is
introduced the distributor made cuts to remove sight of him cutting the throat
of a man on a hospital bed.



The distributor made the following changes to the film: In advance of the film's
UK release, the distributor chose to make several self-imposed cuts to the film
in order to ensure that upon formal classification the film received a 12A
rating without running into censorship problems.
