However the sessions where not what I was expecting and I did not find I got what I needed from the intervention. I wonder if I was not clear enough when I initially was asking for help. Although I don't feel like any progress was made the counsellor we had was friendly, I just was not confident in raising my comments. It took me some time to approach health assured to request counselling as I wasn’t sure it was for me. I’m so glad that I made the decision to do this as it has really helped me. I have had a difficult time after going through a traumatic life experience earlier in the year, I was really struggling with my feelings and emotions surrounding this. I was matched quickly with my counsellor, Jane Clark, she made me feel at ease throughout our 8 week course. I have really benefited from her advice and guidance, she was so kind and compassionate when I was talking about my feelings. I’ve come away with a better understanding of myself and the reasons why I was struggling. I now have tools to help me work through and manage my feelings, these will be so valuable to me as a I move forward. I’ve come out of this experience feeling much more positive and in control of my situation. I’m so grateful for Jane’s help. Wise Assessment. Clear empathetic understanding of the nature of my distress, and what I needed. Helping me with main distress immediately ..whilst also aligning another for further referral. Calming hearing, and also explaining to me, the emotional intensity of my feelings helped instantly, and how bring it down by breathing meditation and sensible grounding. There have been times when I was feeling it was difficult to manage how I was feeling and found it very useful to be able to call and speak to a counsellor for a brief intervention. I needed some structured sessions, which were set up very quickly and my counsellor Linda Clarke was amazing. So supporting and able to provide some very useful resources and helped me greatly. We also looked at next steps. Would definitely recommend Health Assured service. Clearly very experienced to the point she was 'feeling between the lines' of what I was saying and connecting very deeply and empathically. The lady was very understanding and supportive, very professional very nice lady. I am based in Ireland and really appreciated who I was linked with. I found it so beneficial, I was initially there for relationship and work concerns but unfortunately a cancer diagnosis happened during sessions so they took a redirection but I feel it helped me open up, become more assertive, to not try take the world on on my own and not be afraid to ask friends and family for support that I need. I worked with Marion, she was amazing. She helped me work through a lot of issues, and left me with the tools to manage my own mental health. I now recommend counselling to everyone, the impact those sessions have had on me will stay with me for a life time and I am forever grateful of Marion and helping me through the most difficult time in my life. I can hand on heart say that this experience has changed my life. My counsellor, Gina, is a credit to health assured. Her approach was tactful and I found her very easy to talk to, she discussed things with me in great detail and has really changed my mindset. Gina helped me with some things I’ve been going through recently; but also some more deep rooted issues. I feel so much better about all of them now. She was very easy to talk too and listened to what I had to without judgement. She emailed me various amounts of paperwork to help combat my mental health and also gave me plenty of tips on how to help overcome my anxiety,s. I wish I could speak to her more but,I realise she is busy and there is more people out there that need her expertise.
