It is a resource that has been developed using first-hand experience and understanding of the emotional impact of raising a concern, coupled with the Institute for Business Ethics’s knowledge of what constitutes good practice for organisations receiving those concerns. Speaking up is often an experience that can provoke a mix of emotions; it can be complex and feel daunting. The toolkit will ask you to choose how you feel in response to questions so you can receive appropriate guidance that recognises your emotional reactions and guides you to resolving your concerns. The Toolkit highlights the importance of having conversations, as issues are usually best resolved as soon as possible and amongst colleagues and it suggests Santander resources that may further support you in raising a concern. The Santander Speak Up Toolkit is a resource that you can dip in and out of. It offers support and guidance through every step of your Speak Up journey. Use of the tool is completely confidential. There is no registration process and you are not required to provide any information. USING THIS TOOLKIT Click Get started and then choose one of the five stages of the Speak Up journey. For each step of the journey you can choose a question and then select the emotion you feel most close to. You will then see some guidance and find out what other Santander resources can help you. I have a concern – you’ve noticed something has happened, what are the common worries around speaking up, why should you speak up and how do you go about it? Speaking to someone – how can you prepare to have a conversation, who should you speak to and what happens after that? Reporting a concern – how can you prepare to report a concern, how do you actually do it and what happens after you report? Investigation is underway – what are the steps of an investigation, what is your role within that and who will be involved? Feedback and monitoring – what is the outcome and what are yours and your organisation's ongoing responsibilities? Links to other Santander resources shared in this toolkit will only work if you are connected to the RAS network. Your use of this toolkit is completely confidential.
