VOCCME Registration Information The VOCCME is presented by the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association (GOMA), the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society (IOMS), the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS), the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA), the Montana Osteopathic Medical Association (MOMA), the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA), the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA), the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon (OPSO), and the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA). This conference offers up to 48 CME credits of AOA Category 1-A Credit and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ in a flexible format. VOCCME General Information Flexibility: The VOCCME is all about flexibility! You have the flexibility to choose: * When to attend: All programs will be available on-demand as soon as it launches on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM CST and through June 30, 2025. Take in a presentation before you go to the office, and another in the middle of the night - it is your choice! * Where to attend: You can view from anywhere you have internet access – at your home, at the lake, at a ski resort, at your office, or all of the above. * What to attend: You can customize the program for your needs by selecting any of the 48 presentations in the VOCCME. * How much to attend: You select the credit category that works for you…but when you see more presentations you want to take (and we know you will!), you can increase it to another level by calling the MAOPS office, and we will honor the increased credit discount. * Credit type: The VOCCME presentations are accredited for both AOA and AMA category 1 credit. It will work for you, no matter how you are boarded. On-Demand: The VOCCME 2025 will launch on Friday, February 14, 2025. All 48 VOCCME presentations will be on-demand and will be available through midnight PST on Monday, June 30, 2025. Credit Options: Registrants can choose from various credit level categories for this virtual conference in 8-credit increments. You choose which presentations you want to complete on-demand. If, after your initial purchase, you would lik eto increase to a higher credit level category, we will honor the discounted pricing. If you complete more programs than you purchase per the credit category you registered for, you will have the ability to purchase a higher-level credit category, and we will honor the discounted rate. Rates: Member vs. Non-Member Rates – To take advantage of "Member Prices" for this conference, you must be a member of one of the nine partner associations listed above. Refund/Cancelation Policy VOCCME registrations made before May 31, 2025, can be canceled within 30 days of the purchase date for a refund of 80% of the registration fee. GRIN, MD RELATED SEMINARS AND PRODUCTS ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PRIMARY CARE KANSAS CITY UNIVERSITY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Benjamin Grin, MD, MPH, received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, and he completed Internal Medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He received his MPH from Brown University. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Primary Care at KCU, where he teaches clinical skills to 1st and 2nd year medical students and is involved in expanding public health training within the medical school. He maintains an active clinical practice at the KC CARE Health Center; his clinical work includes primary care, HIV care, and care for patients with substance use disorders. He also serves on the Kansas City, Missouri Health Commission where he is active in advocating for change to improve the health of our broader community. Dr. Grin can be reached at bgrin@kansascity.edu. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CRAIG KUBIK, DO RELATED SEMINARS AND PRODUCTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Craig Kubik graduated from St. John Fisher College with a degree in biology. Dr. Kubik worked for the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York, as a respiratory therapy technician. He entered medical school in 1981, earning a degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, in 1985. He completed a rotating internship at Delaware Valley Medical Center in Pennsauken, New Jersey, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Kubik met his wife Sandra during training, and they eventually married and had three children Molly, Michael, and Emily. Dr. Kubik is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kubik also served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he worked as a general internist from 1989 to 1992. He spent seven months in Saudi Arabia during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm during his service. Upon returning stateside, Dr. Kubik was awarded a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After the fellowship, he was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Major in 1996. For the last 22 years of his career, Dr. Kubik has lived and worked in Waycross, Georgia. Dr. Kubik has served as President of the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association and Chief of the medical staff at Memorial Satilla Health. He also holds volunteer faculty appointments at the Medical College of Georgia (Regents University) in Augusta, Georgia, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Georgia Campus in Suwanee, Georgia. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and has lectured at numerous medical proceedings. One of Dr. Kubik's passions is medical mission work. He has traveled to Kenya and Nicaragua to practice medicine and teach endoscopic techniques to local physicians. For the last twelve years, he has been involved with developing and operating a free medical clinic that serves the working poor in Southeast Georgia who are without medical insurance. He serves as the volunteer medical director and is assisted by his wife, Sandy, a registered nurse. For his work, Dr. Kubik was honored in 2011 with the Jacobson Brotherhood Award for community service and was elected to the St. John Fisher Science and Technology Hall of Fame. She earned a MSPH from UAB in 1999 with her thesis concentration in Epidemiology. She graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences as a DO in 2004 and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently served as Chief Fellow during her Gastroenterology fellowship at St. John Oakland-Macomb Hospital in Michigan. She is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She has published multiple studies in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He joined Northwest Permanente Medical Group, Portland, Oregon, in 2005. Dr Ellis is a Costin scholar and is a faculty member of the Healthy Living and Wellness curriculum and Lifestyle Medicine track at Western University of Health Sciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. Dr. Ellis is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and in Palliative Medicine by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition, he is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Ellis also has professional training in plant-based nutrition and plant-based culinary arts. He is a certified culinary medicine specialist. Dr. Ellis was a 1987 graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Ellis completed his residency in Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, and his fellowship in Hematology/Medical Oncology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Ellis previously served as the Medical Director of the Cancer Center of Southwest Washington and Hospice of Southwest Washington. A 26-year US Army veteran, Dr. Ellis left active duty in 2001 as a colonel.
