In late July of 2021 a team of 5 relative strangers assembled to combine their respective talents and attempt what had never been done before; an entire 10k avatar project, mintable via smart contract, in less than 24 Hours. With time to spare, the superteam had created the assets, wrote the smart contract, designed a website, and generated hundreds of thousands of possible cat combinations to be narrowed down to 10,000. Dedicated to making an impact with their feat, the 5 committed to donating 25% of minting proceeds and 100% of secondary royalties to charity. At sell out of mints, Blazed Cats had already donated over $150k via The Giving Block directly to the wallet of Mental Health America. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What are Blazed Cats? Blazed Cats are a new breed of Cat JPEGs that have charity built into their codebase. Built in less than 24 hours as a response to a celebrity cash grab project, BC quickly evolved into a charitable monster, donating over $215k to Mental Health America within the first two weeks of being a project. Blazed Cats are the first of their kind in a new genre of dynamic avatar projects where the artwork can change based on many variables. Sneaky customizations by the orignal artist, Hamm are not out of the question, as well as enhancements, fixes, and collaborations that change the look but keep the tokens intact. Where do I buy Blazed Cats? Originally you were able to mint Blazed Cats directly from our site via smart contract. Doing so would transfer a BLAZED token to your wallet which corresponded to the avatar you'd see in your wallet. Now you are only able to purchase Blazed Cats from the secondary market through other collectors. Blazed Cats has no control of the pricing on the secondary markets but do donate 100% of all secondary royalties directly to Mental Health America. How much is donated? 25% of our mint profits and 100% of our secondary royalties are donated to Mental Health America. How was the charity chosen? We posted a poll to cat owners early on in our discord to determine the sole beneficiary of the profits and royalties perpetually. Mental Health America won by a staggering amount. What about the rest of the profits? During pre-sale each team member (5 of us) received 15% of minting profits sent directly to our wallets. By the time we minted out the USD value of each team-member's take was around $85,000 USD. The team has collectively spent on Rarity Tools, our Social Media team, fees related to our smart contract, air dropping, and other infrastructural expenses. We have spent zero dollars or ETH on paid promotion of any kind and have no plans of doing so. View Contract Payouts Does the team work on Blazed Cats full-time? Not yet. We have several projects coming out that will support Blazed Cats' value as well as provide operational expenses for the team to allow us to commit fully to the project. Currently, each team member is committing about 2/3 of their bandwidth to this project and each member is also actively involved in other projects. What token standard does Blazed Cats use? What is a dynamic avatar project? / BCMD We believe in pushing envelopes and exploiting technology to its creative limits. With Blazed Cats, we realize these beliefs by offering a living avatar. At any point your Cat could be updated to have new enhancements, fixes, customizations, or other easter eggs to put a smile on your face. We will NEVER devalue your cat directly or indirectly or take anything away from them (unless you specifically request). What are On-Contract Collaborations? On-Contract Collaborations are a new genre of collaborative media we are pioneering with Blazed Cats. When we started the project we generated all ten thousand cats. Midway through our mint we decided to align ourselves with a handful of artists to do collaborative re-imaginings of the original cats. Rather than have the artists create new works then mint them on a new smart contract, we decided to replace the actual artwork on-contract, adding that version to the collection as an official 1 out of 10k token. This new form of collab allows us to keep the supply the same and the collection cleanly contained under one address. ROADMAP August 2021 PROFILES AND LEADERBOARDS Coming very soon we will be release collector and cat profiles as well as leaderboards for each as well. We plan on making it extremely easy and fun to keep track of your cat and collection's charitable contributions. Late August 2021 HEADS RELEASE! At the end of August we'll be rolling out the release of Heads in a one-of-a-kind release. Heads will be mintable directly from their site and free for all Blazed Cats owners. Fall 2021 HALLOWEEN EVENT All cats will receive FREE generative Halloween costumes simply by updating the metadata of their cats. Costumes will be available after the event via Quantum Metadata.
