Activity Solar activity reached moderate levels following a long-duration M1.1
flare (R1-Minor radio blackout), the largest of the period, at 08/1012 UTC from
Region 3242 (N10W08, Ehi/beta-gamma-delta). This region maintained its complex
magnetic structure as consolidation and reorganization was observed in its
intermediate and trailer spots. Regions 3244 (S22W81, Cso/beta), 3245 (S23E15,
Dki/beta-gamma), and 3248 (N15W65, Cao/beta) all contributed low-level C-class
flares during the period. Region 3245 exhibited slight separation in its leader
and intermediate spots, while the remaining ARs were either stable or exhibited
decay throughout the period.Solar Wind Solar wind parameters were indicative of
waning negative polarity CH HSS influence. Total field averaged near 4 nT, the
Bz component had only minor deviations, and solar wind speeds continued to
decrease, ending the period under 450 km/s. Phi was predominantly
negative.Energetic Particle The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at high
levels with a maximum flux of 2,819 pfu at 07/1500 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV
proton flux remained at background levels.
