It brings together scientists and industrial experts, who share an interest in the separation and characterization of “large” molecules. It offers a platform to interact, to discuss subjects of mutual interest, and to discover new synergies. SCM caters for interest in both synthetic polymers and biomacromolecules (“Dead or Alive”). The meeting seeks a balance between industrial needs and academic research. To this end, the meeting is supported by an Industrial Advisory Board and an International Scientific Committee. SCM-11 is organized by a team from the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit, collaborating in the Centre for Analytical Sciences Amsterdam (CASA). WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND SHORT COURSES Two one-day short courses will be organized preceding the SCM-11 conference. On Monday, January 20th, Dr. Wolfgang Radke from Agilent will present a short course on Interaction Polymer Chromotography. Dr. Wolfgang Radke On Tuesday, January 21st, a short course on the Analysis of Biopharmaceuticals will be presented by prof. Davy Guillarme and Dr. Jonathan Maurer from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). A larger number of keynote lectures will be presented by leading experts and there are many slots in the program for submitted oral presentations. SCM‐11 also features tutorial lectures (intended to bring non‐specialists up to date on important topics) and State‐of‐the‐Art overview lectures. Posters are an essential aspect of the scientific program. They represent the best format to present specific studies and to discuss all aspects of the work with fellow experts.
