"When Lights Are Low" and the only known non-studio recording of Coltrane's
composition "Africa", from the Africa/Brass album.

Everything Will Change is the new live album by indie-pop legends The Postal
Service. The album documents The Postal Service's performance at the Greek
Theater in Berkeley, CA during their 2013 reunion tour. (The same show was
featured in the 2014 feature-length documentary concert film of the same title.)
This is the first time the show has been released on CD and vinyl, and the album
features "Never Enough Time," which did not appear in the original video
release. A collaboration between Benjamin Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie) and
Jimmy Tamborello (from Dntel), with Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, The Postal Service
released Give Up, their one and only album, in 2003. That record went on to sell
over a million copies and most of the band's fans never had the chance to see
them perform live. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Give Up, the
band reunited to tour the world. Everything Will Change captures one of the
nights when everything did change.

The duo of Dylan Brady and Laura Les, 100 gecs, announces that the band’s
highly-anticipated sophomore album, 10,000 gecs, will arrive on March 17th,
2023. Following their breakout debut album, 1,000 gecs, the anticipation of
their next body of work has been high and the band’s teases have been plentiful.
The forthcoming album is set to include previously released singles “mememe”
which was described in the story as "an ebullient carnival of ska-inflected
verses that bounce off a chorus of thrash guitars and a squiggling synth line"
along with the 90’s Alt Rock-inspired “Doritos & Fritos,” which The Fader noted
as "unlike any other Gecs track before it.”
For those yet initiated: 100 gecs planted their flag on the proverbial pop
culture moon with their 2019 debut album 1000 gecs, which was heralded by The
New Yorker as, “an impressively precise maximalist exercise with no rules” and
“utterly unhinged in the best way possible” by GQ. The innovative project
captured the hearts of fans and critics alike - selling out all of their live
shows to date along with The New York Times calling it, “some of the savviest
pop music of the year,” and Rolling Stone dubbing it “one of 2019’s most
exciting debuts.” In just a few months following the release of 1,000 gecs, the
band went from playing their first concert from inside the video game Minecraft
to selling out shows across the country, proving that their rabid, rapidly
multiplying fanbase doesn't only exist in the far corners of the internet. After
their world tour was postponed in the summer of 2020, Brady and Les kept rolling
with the release of 1000 gecs and The Tree of Clues, a rework of the original

A Jason Isbell record always lands like a decoder ring in the ears and hearts of
his audience, a soundtrack to his world and magically to theirs, too.
Weathervanes carries the same revelatory power. This is a storyteller at the
peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to
understand, reducing a universe to four minutes. He shrinks life small enough to
name the fear and then strip it away, helping his listeners make sense of how
two plus two stops equaling four once you reach a certain age -- and carry a
certain amount of scars.
“There is something about boundaries on this record,” Isbell says. “As you
mature, you still attempt to keep the ability to love somebody fully and
completely while you’re growing into an adult and learning how to love
yourself.”
Weathervanes is a collection of grown-up songs: Songs about adult love, about
change, about the danger of nostalgia and the interrogation of myths, about
cruelty and regret and redemption. Life and death songs played for and by grown
ass people. Some will make you cry alone in your car and others will make you
sing along with thousands of strangers in a big summer pavilion, united in the
great miracle of being alive. The record features the rolling thunder of
Isbell’s fearsome 400 Unit, who’ve earned a place in the rock ‘n’ roll cosmos
alongside the greatest backing ensembles, as powerful and essential to the
storytelling as The E Street Band or the Wailers.
They make a big noise, as Isbell puts it, and he feels so comfortable letting
them be a main prism through which much of the world hears his art. He can be
private but with them behind him he transforms, and there is a version of
himself that can only exist in their presence. When he plays a solo show, he is
in charge of the entire complicated juggle. On stage with the 400 Unit, he can
be a guitar hero when he wants, and a conductor when he wants, and a smiling fan
of the majesty of his bandmates when he wants to hang back and listen to the
sound.

This Limited-Edition vinyl release for RSD Black Friday 2021 celebrates the long
and ground-breaking career of the artist who single-handedly created the model
for all succeeding reggae DJs, the legendary U ROY.
It is impossible to overstate his importance to the history of reggae,
representing a status as Louis Armstrong’s lasting influence on Jazz; U Roy’s
feat of having the Top 3 best-selling singles at one time in 1970 on the
airwaves & in record shops announced the beginning of a long recording and live
performance career, known internationally as the ‘Rasta Ambassador’, a status he
held until his death in February 2021. Quite simply, U Roy created the template
for all those countless Mic MCs who followed his example, from the 1970s to now.
Bob Marley was known to not be a fan of the DJ music sweeping the dance in
Jamaica, but when asked what he thought of the trend replied “Well…me like U
Roy.”
Pressed on clear vinyl (with liner notes by the noted reggae producer/historian
Leroy Pierson), this compilation includes Roy’s collaborations with the leading
vocalists of the day (including Johnnie Clarke, Lee Perry, The Heptones, Slim
Smith and others), on his own, now-extremely rare JA-only 45 releases, from the
collection on Sound System Records, Foundation Skank . There are also sides from
an earlier release on Sound System (out of print on vinyl for 20 years) The Lost
Album: Right Time Rockers, cited by the Rough Guide To Reggae as one of its 100
Essential LPs. Chatting as a master jazz scat-vocalist over the rhythms
originally cut at the Channel One studio in Kingston for the all-time greatest
LP of the vocal group Mighty Diamonds, they give an intimate look at the
island’s #1 DJ at the top of his form.
By the time of his demise at the age of 78, every accolade, honor, and
recognition given in the reggae world were abundantly his, including the
Jamaican government’s highest commendation, The National Order Of Distinction.
From the early days until his end, U Roy was the epitome of the Rastafarian

Gus Dapperton - Henge - Warner Records
Alt-pop icon Gus Dapperton’s vast and ambitious album Henge builds a new
world – tugging the listeners between night and day, socializing and

underworld as the sun goes down and trying to get home before dawn—or risk

Lucinda Williams - Stories from a Rock N Roll Heart - Highway 20 Records
Three-time Grammy Award winner Lucinda Williams releases her highly
anticipated new album Stories from a Rock N Roll Heart (Highway 20
Records/Thirty Tigers). 2023 is a special year for Williams: she turned 70 in
January and on April 25th released her long-awaited memoir Don’t Tell Anybody
The Secrets I Told You (Crown, a division of Penguin Random House LLC). The
last couple years have been challenging for Williams. In 2020, a tornado
damaged her new home in Nashville, followed two weeks later by the beginning
of the COVID lockdown. Later that November, Williams suffered a stroke that
partially impaired some of her motor skills on the left side of her body,
forcing her to learn to walk again and taking away her ability to play the
guitar. Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart marks a triumphant return from one
of our most revered artists and songwriters. Williams is in great form as
heard on her new single “New York Comeback,” written by Williams, Tom Overby
and Jesse Malin, with Patti Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen on backing
vocals. Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart was produced by Williams, Overby and
Ray Kennedy, who also engineered. The album includes guest backing vocals by
Jeremy Ivey, Jesse Malin, Buddy Miller, Angel Olsen, Margo Price and Tommy
Stinson.
Neko Case - Wild Creatures - Anti
Wild Creatures is a career retrospective album containing twenty-three of
Neko Case’s most impactful tracks from her discography, and will now be
available on CD and 2x LP. With a career spanning over twenty years, she has
famously collaborated with The New Pornographers and Case/Lang/Veirs in
addition to releasing many critically acclaimed solo albums, including ‘Fox
Confessor Brings The Flood’, ‘Middle Cyclone’ and most recently 2018’s
‘Hell-On’. Gathering power year after year, Neko sings with the fierce
abandon of a newborn infant crying in a basket in the woods. Since escaping
the labels of country and Americana, the gorgeous train-whistle vocals of her
early career sit submerged in her later style, where their ghost can appear
any minute. When her voice jumps an octave, it’s almost visible, like sparks
at night. “I never knew where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do with my
voice,” she says, “but I just wanted to do it so bad.”
