100 JÓVENES DE 5 PAÍSES HACEN EL CAMINO DE SANTIAGO PARA PROMOVER LAS ELECCIONES
EUROPEAS

Cuándo: lunes, 18 de marzo - 11h00

Previamente, entre las 9h y las 10h, los jóvenes llegarán a la Plaza del
Obradoiro, donde recibirán la Compostela en la Oficina del Peregrino.

La Oficina del Parlamento Europeo en España organiza desde hoy, 14 de marzo, y
hasta el 18 de marzo un camino de Santiago transnacional - "Camino Europa" -
para promover las elecciones europeas del 9 de junio, en particular la
participación de los jóvenes.

El "Camino Europa" está recorriendo los 115 kilómetros que separan Sarria (Lugo)
de Santiago de Compostela. En él, participarán 100 jóvenes de 5 países de la UE
- España, Portugal, Alemania, Bulgaria y Rumania - entre los 16 y los 18 años
para promover los valores europeos de la solidaridad y de la participación
democrática.

Los participantes de España, 26 estudiantes del Instituto albaceteño de
Educación Secundaria Andrés de Vandelvira (Escuela Embajadora del Parlamento
Europeo), han llegado a Galicia desde Albacete en un autobús vinilado con el
logo de las elecciones europeas. En el camino, han recogido a los demás
participantes internacionales en el aeropuerto de Barajas (Madrid).

En las paradas entre Sarria y Santiago de Compostela (Palas de Rei, Melide,
Arzúa y Monte do Gozo), los participantes se encontrarán con jóvenes y
estudiantes de las comunidades locales para promover la participación en las
elecciones europeas 2024, a través de actividades como charlas, encuentros
informales, quizzes, juegos, etc.

Los jóvenes llegarán a la Plaza del Obradoiro, en Santiago de Compostela, en la
mañana del 18 de marzo (entre las 9:00 y las 10:00), dónde recibirán la
Compostela en la Oficina del Peregrino.

El Camino Europa terminará el mismo día, 18 de marzo, a las 11:00. con un
encuentro en Santiago de Compostela con los eurodiputados Francisco Millán Mon
(PPE) y Nicolás González Casares (S&D) y un mensaje video de la eurodiputada Ana
Miranda (Los Verdes/ALE).
