A big victory for religious liberty. May 30, 2019 FAA Agrees to Investigate Removal of Chick fil-A from Buffalo Airport Based on a NCCA member's complaint, the Federal Aviation Administration announced this past Friday that they will investigate the removal of fast food company Chick fil-A from the San Antonio and Buffalo Airports. The decision to remove the company as a vendor at each airport was based on the closely held company owner's religious beliefs opposing same-sex marriage and their support for traditional Christian entities such as the Salvation Army. The most disturbing aspect of this case is the outright animus and unlawful discrimination expressed by those who profess tolerance for anyone else in America except for Christians. We will be watching the investigation closely. We would like to thank the Christian law firm First Liberty for filing their complaint involving the San Antonio Airport. Lafazan files Legislation In a decision that reflects honesty and one that looks out for the welfare of Nassau residents, Nassau County Executive Curran has decided to opt out of legalization of recreational marijuana in Nassau County. The proposed state law has an opt out provision related to the sale and cultivation of marijuana. Hearings chaired by Nassau Legislator Josh Lafazan (I-Woodbury) found that the costs would outweigh any benefits. Legislator Lafazan filed legislation today to enact the opt out by the County. Nassau Executive Curran should be commended for her decision to put Nassau residents first and Josh Lafazan for holding detailed and comprehensive hearings into legalization of marijuana. He further stated that Mr. Obama had the Nation of Islam work on his Senatorial Campaign and actually work at his Chicago Senatorial office. The level of hypocrisy is staggering. After reaching out to the President in June with the proposal, the President's tax reform package includes a "non refundable credit of $500 for non-child dependents to help defray the cost of caring for other dependents". This credit can be used for medical expenses and or elder care. We want to thank the President for listening and showing compassion for middle class families who face the added expense of paying for medical care related to a serious illness like cancer.
