Since its inception, the Badger State lottery has generated $16.1 billion in total revenue. About 50% of that sum has gone to the prize winners, with the rest going to Wisconsin taxpayers, businesses, and retailers. WISCONSIN LOTTERY RULES Those planning on trying their luck at one of WI lottery games need to follow certain rules. You’ll find the most important ones below: * Players must be at least 18 years old to purchase WI Lottery tickets; * Players can buy tickets at one of the authorized Wisconsin Lottery retailers; * Players can purchase tickets with cash only; * Players should sign their tickets after purchasing them as evidence that they rightfully own them; * Players must redeem their prizes in the 180 days after the draw date, that is, the end game date; * Players who have won prizes valued at $600 or higher will need to provide one of the following: an SSN, an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), or a completed IRS Form W-8BEN; * Players who have won WI Lottery prizes cannot stay anonymous due to Wisconsin’s “open records law.” The state has to disclose the winners’ names and cities upon request. WISCONSIN LOTTERY TICKETS Wisconsin Lottery tickets are available for purchase at any of the licensed retail locations in the state. You must be 18 years old or over to purchase one. If you win, you’ll have 180 days after the draw date or the end date of the game to claim your prize. CAN I BUY WI TICKETS ONLINE? No. You must buy WI Lottery tickets at one of the physical retail locations in the state. WISCONSIN LOTTERY GAMES AND DRAWING SCHEDULE POWERBALL You can win the rolling jackpot in this popular multi-state lottery game by following simple rules. Just select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. You can enter up to eight future draws for $2 per play and multiply your winnings with the Power Play feature for a dollar more. Draws take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. CST. MEGA MILLIONS A massive progressive jackpot can be yours if you choose to play this multi-state lottery game. The rules state that players must choose five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $2, but the Multiplier mode can increase your winnings if you pay a dollar more. Once again, you can enter up to eight draws in advance. Mega Millions draws are held on Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. CST. MEGA BUCKS For $1 per two plays, you can land a jackpot that starts at $1 million and keeps growing until it’s won. To participate, you need to select six numbers between 1 and 40 from two panels on your playslip. If you add EZMatch to your ticket for $1 more, you’ll receive an extra set of numbers and a chance to win instantly. Players can enter in up to eight future draws here, too. Numbers are drawn on Wednesday and Saturday after 9 p.m. CST. BADGER 5 You can bag an impressive sum of money playing the Wisconsin Lottery’s Badger 5. According to the rules, all you need to do is choose five numbers from 1 to 31. Each play is $1, and you can play in up to seven draws. Badger 5 numbers are drawn daily after 9 p.m. CST. SUPERCASH! Supercash! participants will get two plays for $1 per draw and a shot at $350,000 every day with this game. To enter the draws, you’ll need to pick six numbers between 1 and 39. WI Lottery allows entering up to seven draws in advance and/or double your non-top prize winnings if you add the Doubler feature to your ticket. Draws take place every day after 9 p.m. ALL OR NOTHING With the WI Lottery’s All or Nothing, you can win a prize even if you match none of the winning numbers. To play, you’ll have to select 11 numbers from 1 to 22, the draw/s you’d like to enter, and the number of days you’d like to play this game on. You can participate in up to seven midday or evening draws or up to 14 draws if you choose to enter both in one day. Each ticket is $2 per draw, and the numbers are drawn daily, after 1:30 p.m. CST for midday and after 9:00 p.m. CST for evening draws. PICK 3 Pick 3 is a daily WI Lottery game where you can win up to $500 twice a day. To play, you need to select three numbers in one of three 0–9 panels on your ticket, a playstyle, the amount you’d like to wager, the draw/s you’d like to partake in, and days you’d like to play on. Available bet types are: * Straight — With this playstyle, you need to match the winning numbers in the exact order. * Box — This bet type allows you to match the drawn numbers in any order. * Straight/Box — If you opt for this one, you can play your numbers in either the exact or any order. You can bet $0.50 or $1 with the first two playstyles, but you’ll need to wager $1 if you pick the last bet type. Players can enter up to seven midday or evening draws or up to 14 draws if they choose to participate in both in one day. Pick 3 numbers are drawn every day after 1:30 p.m. CST and after 9:00 p.m. CST. PICK 4 This game grants the Wisconsin Lottery players a shot at the $5,000 top prize daily. To partake in the draws, they need to select four numbers from 0 to 9 from the four panels on their ticket, the amount they want to bet, the bet type, the draws they want to participate in, and the days they’d like to play on. The bet types available for this game are Straight and Box.
