ABOUT JUST THINK DOG LTD


Just Think Dog Ltd is a new concept in dog grooming. Incorporating training and
grooming using the latest scientific methods giving your dog the best
experience. We take a more holistic approach and look at the needs of each dog
as a whole. Building resilience and confidence for our four legged clients so
they know and understand what to expect and giving them a more relaxed and
enjoyable experience.

Over recent years the science of emotions in animals has been more widely
researched and we are realising
there is a lot more to them than we previously thought. They really are not so
different from us with thoughts,
 feelings and emotions.

So how does this relate to grooming?
It quickly became apparent that groomers are in a unique position. We have the
dog in our care for up to 2 hours and see all kinds of behaviours from excited,
anxious, fearful sometimes just over excitable pups. We see separation anxiety,
painful joints on older dogs, skin conditions, puppies dealing with adolescence.
By combining knowledge of grooming, the science of skin care and the science of
behaviour can only
give us more understanding of our dogs needs.

I wanted to create a salon dedicated to how dogs see the world. From the sights
to the scent, sounds and a fun 'safe zone' full of enrichment toys for your dog
to enjoy. With training to help the dog understand what is expected of them.
Training workshops are available for owners so they know how to keep their dogs
coat in great condition, to teach co operative care and to introduce puppies in
a stress free, fun course. I can also offer workshops to groomers who wish to
broaden their knowledge in handling and behaviour and how to prevent common
issues arising.

It is time we looked at grooming dogs from a new perspective.

CONSENT GROOMING

Consent or cooperative grooming is all about choices for the dog. The initial
training involves 'start buttons'. This is a way of communication for the dog to
let us know they are ready. When we work with the dogs, amazing things happen.
The dogs are more comfortable and relaxed. It becomes an enjoyable visit not
just a necessity.
Some older dogs who may have become fearful at the groomers for whatever reason
can be helped with a personalised behaviour modification programme.



DOG TRAINING

We offer both in person and on line courses. Not just in grooming, also offering
an on line course in general dog training. We know training builds bonds,
resilience and confidence in our dogs.
We have the Good Dog Level 1 on line course to get you started in general
training. We will soon be adding Coat Care and Maintenance and Cooperative Care
on line. 
In person we offer Start them Right puppy course, Coat Care and Cooperative Care
as well as Behaviour Modification.



DAATA GROOMING

As a DAATA Level 1 & 2 qualified groomer you can be assured that your dog will
receive the best individual care. This means we can tailor your dogs groom to
respect and relieve any existing skin problems. By using the correct water
temperature, ph levels and quality natural ingredients to nourish and compliment
your dogs skin. A DAATA groomer has knowledge based on carefully researched
science which is constantly being updated and improved.
