BILL CARNEY

—— New Media Specialist. Curious mind. Freemason.

I am the “New Media Specialist” for the Michigan State Senate’s Republican
Communications office. Loosely translated, it means I am the web geek. Prior to
this I was the New Media Campaign Director for the DeVos for Governor campaign,
and New Media/IT Director for the the Michigan Republicans. I also  worked as
Director of Computer Information Systems for Michigan’s former Senate Majority
Leader, Dan DeGrow, a Republican from Port Huron, Michigan.

I am also the founder of Inspiration Webworks, a full-featured, low cost web
site design and hosting, e-mail hosting, graphic design services for print,
outdoor, and online advertising, and custom computer support.   We cater to
Republican political campaigns and small businesses in Michigan. 

My former employers include Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus and State Senator Joel
Gougeon.

PERSONAL

I am married to the lovely Emily Carney, and have two teenage children.

I am a Freemason and secretary of my Lodge, Grand Ledge #179 in Grand Ledge,
Michigan.

My hobbies are genealogy, shortwave radio, the appreciation of rum, cruising the
Caribbean, collecting coins from Canada and Great Britain and stamps from
Barbados, N-scale model trains, geology, medieval English history, and raising
freshwater tropical fish.

My hobbies come and go, but I always return to them in time.

MBMA is your one stop shop to find all breweries, cideries and meaderies
including those that are upcoming, and the ability to filter and see which ones
have food, a patio, or other beverages to sip on other than beer. Also included
are local craft beer festivals.

First and foremost I am a husband and father. I am also a Freemason, a
fraternity that binds men together under the banner of Brotherly Love, Relief,
and Truth.

I’m an avid fan of studying history, with a particular love of medieval English
history.

Cruising the Caribbean is one of my favorite ways to relax and travel. A
different island with a different culture every day.

I collect Canadian coins. With a lower population than the US, there is less
demand and therefore less cost.

Rum. What’s not to love?

There’s nothing like the thrill of launching a model rocket hundreds of feet
into the air!
