Established in 1956, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department
of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science (UMSOM PTRS) has a long history of
providing outstanding education, producing high-quality research, and
contributing extensively to service.

UMSOM PTRS is dedicated to advancing the profession of rehabilitation through
high-quality research, excellence in clinical practice, and advances in
curricular design and delivery. Our faculty are nationally recognized for their
