The Gracie Bullyproof® program empowers children aged 5-12 with confidence and
non-violent self-defense techniques to deter bullies, gaining recognition from

teaches kids to differentiate between harmless play and harmful harassment,
equipping them with defensive skills and a set of engagement rules, ensuring

Gracie Combatives® is a beginner’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program for 13+ years old
and adults, teaching 36 essential techniques in a cooperative environment
without competitive sparring. Originating for the U.S. Army, the program

Belt and progression to the Master Cycle program.

Will My Child Become A Bully?

🥋 We find that our students become more confident to stand up to bullies and
have more humility and kindness to others through their martial arts lessons.

What Do I Need To Bring To My First Lesson?

🥋 Make sure you wear comfortable clothes you can do sport in! Not really
suitable to practice kicks in a skirt.😳

Be sure to bring a water bottle to your martial arts classes. You will find
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Vista in Vista have martial arts classes for kids and adults
that are a great workout and lots of fun! Most students are grinning from ear to
ear by the end of the class. I am sure you will be too!

Do I Need To Be Fit For This?

🥋 No, not at all! We find that people start at varying fitness levels. But, you
will find that you do get fit by doing our Vista martial arts classes. Isn’t
that the point though? A fun workout that gets results!

How Do Bullyproof Classes Differ From Regular Martial Arts Classes?

🥋 Bully Proof classes focus specifically on building confidence, self-esteem,
and teaching children non-violent techniques to deter bullying. While
traditional martial arts also instill these values, our Bullyproof program
places an emphasis on scenarios children might face in school or in the
playground, and how to handle them without resorting to violence. It’s about
empowering the child with knowledge and skills to protect themselves emotionally
and physically without becoming aggressive.

Are Parents Allowed to Watch?

🥋 We encourage parents to watch their children in their kids martial arts
lessons. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. Even better…
join into some of our martial arts classes for adults. Your kids will love that
you have something in common. It will build a strong family bond!

Additionally, if you wanted some ‘me-time’? Simply drop them off, and go grab a
coffee. They will greet you with a huge smile when you return, because they had
SO much fun!

I’m Not Very Sporty or Coordinated, Will That Be A Problem?

🥋 Not at all. In fact, many students starting in our adult martial arts classes
would describe themselves like that before they started. So you will fit right
in!

Give yourself some time, and you will be astounded at how much you improve!
You’ll find that our very experienced martial arts Instructors, are trained to
keep their teaching simple. So even the most uncoordinated person will develop
‘ninja-like’ skills! Come see for yourself!

Is Gracie Jiu Jitsu Safe For My Child?

🥋 Absolutely! Safety is our top priority at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Vista. All our
instructors are trained to teach techniques in a controlled and safe
environment. While Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, the emphasis in our children’s
program is on control, discipline, and technique rather than aggressive
sparring. We employ protective mats, and our instructors closely supervise all
activities to ensure every child’s safety. Moreover, the techniques taught in
the Bully Proof program are specifically designed to be defensive, allowing
children to protect themselves without causing harm to others.
