FAQS

WHAT IS GESTATIONAL SURROGACY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?



A gestational surrogate agrees to carry a child for an individual or couple. The
surrogate is not biologically related and has no parental rights to the child.
The process starts with an initial application and screening. Then, we’ll match
the surrogate with intended parents. Once all contracts are signed and the
surrogate is fully screened, they’ll undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF), which
will hopefully result in a successful pregnancy. The eggs and sperm can be from
the intended parents or separate donors. The pregnancy will proceed normally.
Once the surrogate gives birth, the baby will go home to the intended parents.

WHAT IS EGG DONATION AND HOW DOES IT WORK?



An egg donor donates their eggs to an individual or couple who wants to start or
extend their family. Egg donors must first fill out an application and complete
an initial screening before being added to our database. Intended parents browse
the database and choose a donor with the qualities they’re looking for. The
potential donor will then go through multiple physical and mental health
screenings. Once cleared, the donor undergoes an egg retrieval procedure. The
eggs are fertilized via IVF and the resulting embryo is transferred to the
intended mother or a gestational surrogate.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF BECOMING A SURROGATE?



A potential surrogate must submit an initial application and meet specific age,
health, and lifestyle requirements. At Fertility Source Companies, potential
surrogates must also complete our thorough screening process before being
matched with intended parents. Gestational surrogacy is legal in most states,
but the process can still be medically and legally complex. We’ll ensure all
parties are on the same page before proceeding with the surrogacy.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF BECOMING AN EGG DONOR?



To become an egg donor, you must meet specific requirements, including age,
health, and lifestyle factors. Once approved, you’ll be added to our donor
database for intended parents to browse. After you’re selected, you’ll undergo a
series of physical and mental evaluations. Once cleared, you’ll take fertility
medications to increase your amount of viable eggs. You’ll then undergo an egg
retrieval procedure. Afterward, you’ll be generously compensated for your time
and effort.
