Welcome

If you've not visited the pub before, you'll find the Refectory a fascinating
building seemingly built from architectural salvage, a legacy of its time under
the ownership of a family of renowned antique dealers. The Refectory was
originally a cattle barn belonging to Milford House, which is the enormous house
to the right of the building as you look at it.

It is extraordinary what you can make of a cattle barn: open fires and ancient
wooden beams create a homely, cosy feel, whilst outside the extensive grounds
and terrace garden are great for enjoying those rare days of sun.

As well as freshly prepared, seasonal food, you are sure to find a buzzy
atmosphere, plenty of cask ales, and an enviable collection of whiskies.

We look forward to welcoming you,
Mitch and the Refectory team.

Dogs: If you’re bringing a dog please book a dog friendly table or pop a note on
the booking so we can allocate you to the appropriate area where possible.

Whilst these tables have parasols it’s best to come prepared for every
eventuality, so wrap up warm, just in case. If the heavens do open, we’re really
sorry but we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to find you a table inside.
