and that can affect prices, even when just a handful of shares are traded, ...
The decision of any fund to pull out from certain stock hits the price."
"I still have my laptop but I haven't used it. I'm a paper man, not electronic."
"I've always said that the better off you are, the more responsibility you have
for helping others. Just as I think it's important to run companies well, with a
close eye to the bottom line, I think you have to use your entrepreneurial
experience to make corporate philanthropy effective."

to the operations. We also don’t believe in having big corporate
infrastructures."

world. I spend most of my time studying new technologies. My main task is to
understand what’s going on and try to see where we can fit in."
"I think one of the big errors people are making right now is thinking that
old-style businesses will be obsolete, when actually they will be an important
part of this new civilization."
"Our concept is more to accomplish and solve things, rather than giving, that
is, not going around like Santa Claus. Poverty isn't solved with donations."

problems, they disappear."

CARLOS SLIM HELU ESTATES AND HOMES (2)

DUKE SEMANS MANSION

The buyer of the Duke Semans mansion was kept under wraps until, when
investigations revealed the world’s richest man, Carlos Helu Slim as the buyer.
The mansion is a 1901 Beaux arts house, earlier owned by fertilizer magnate
Tamir Sapir, and now by Carlos Slim Helu, after he paid $44 million to its
owner.

The Location: The Duke Semans Mansion is at 1009, the corner of the Fifth
Avenue, Manhattan, New York.

Accommodation: With the view of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Duke Semans
Mansion is one of Fifth Avenue’s last great private residences. The mansion
boasts 12 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a doctor’s office in the basement, and
comprises over 19,000 square feet of space on 8 levels. The marble flooring, a
gothic inspired marquee over its main entrance and a vintage wooden fireplace
along with some artistic beaux arts work on the walls makes this mansion, the
most important example of Beaux Arts residential architecture in the city. This
grand mansion gets flooded with the brilliant light coming through three huge
windows on the west, and through multiple windows on other sides of the
buildings.

The Neighborhood: The Fifth Avenue, the ultra high end Manhattan area has
residents like Donald Trump, Harrison Ford, Ralph Lauren and Jennifer Lopez, to
name a few.

LOMAS DE CHAPULTEPEC HOME

Carlos Slim Helu owns a modest house in the “Lomas de Chapultepec”. In spite of
being crowned as the richest person in the world thrice in a row, the Mexican

spent almost 40 years. The house is just 3 miles from his office and he prefers
to drive his Mercedes from his place to the office on his own. He moved in the
house after his marriage and it is located just 3 miles from where he was born,
his childhood home.

Lomas de Chapultepec: Built in 1930’s, the area houses some of the country’s
