Introduction to the LTCH QRP Web-Based Training

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering a web-based
training course for those who are new to the Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH)
Quality Reporting Program (QRP). The Introduction to the LTCH QRP course is
designed to provide a general overview of the program as well as a variety of
links and resources for additional information. Specific topics include:

 * Lesson 1: What is the LTCH QRP?
 * Lesson 2: The LTCH Continuity Assessment Record & Evaluation (CARE) Data Set
   (LCDS)
 * Lesson 3: LCDS Submission

Section GG Training Materials

Section GG Web-based Training Course

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering a web-based
training course on how to properly code Section GG. This 45-minute course is
intended for providers in the following care settings: Skilled Nursing
Facilities (SNFs), Long-Term Care Hospitals (LTCHs), Inpatient Rehabilitation
Facilities (IRFs), and Home Health Agencies (HHAs); and is designed to be used
on demand anywhere you can access a browser. The course is divided into the
following four lessons and includes interactive exercises that allow you to test
your knowledge in real life scenarios:

NEW RESOURCES AVAILABLE: Quick Assessment Reference Pocket Guides / Badge
Buddies for Coding

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering Pocket Guides to
assist providers in assessing and coding self-care and mobility, falls, and
pressure ulcers/injuries. The pocket guides provide a quick
reference for important terms and definitions that promote coding
accuracy. These training assets are intended for providers in Home Health
Agencies (HHAs), Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs), Long-Term Care
Hospitals (LTCHs), and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). The pocket
guides are approximately 2 x 3.5 inches in size and are designed to be worn
behind a provider identification badge.

following topics:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering an updated
web-based training series on the assessment and coding of Section GG. This
training is intended for providers in the following post-acute care (PAC)
settings: Home Health Agencies (HHAs), Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities
(IRFs), Long-Term Care Hospitals (LTCHs), and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
It is designed to be used on demand anywhere you can access a browser. This
training series consists of three courses:

 * Course 1: Understanding Prior Functioning and Prior Device Use.
 * Course 2: GG0130. Self-Care Items.
 * Course 3: GG0170. Mobility Items.

Each course includes interactive exercises to test your knowledge related to the
assessment and coding of Section GG items.

Q&A Basics for IRF and LTCH

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering an instructional
resource for providers on how to access and use CMS QRP (Quality Reporting
Program) Quarterly Question & Answer (Q&A) documents. This resource addresses
the purpose and benefit of Q&A, including identifying where to find
setting-specific Q&A documents and the frequency of the release of Q&A. This
resource is intended for providers in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility
(IRF) and Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) care settings.

NEW TRAINING EVENT – From Data Elements to Quality Measures – Cross-Setting QRP
Web-Based Training.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering a web-based
training course that provides a high-level overview of how data elements within
CMS patient/resident assessment instruments are used to construct quality
measures (QMs) across post-acute care (PAC) settings. The PAC settings included
are those covered under the CMS Quality Reporting Programs (QRPs) for Home
Health Agencies (HHAs), Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs), Long-Term
Care Hospitals (LTCHs) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). Information
covered in this 60-minute course will include a short review of the QRPs’
cross-setting quality measures (QM), how data elements feed into these
cross-setting QMs, how QMs are calculated and appear on QM reports and how to
access and use this data for quality improvement.
