Share with the old people you know! Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc!
This is for MANY different states. I know so many older people who wanted to go
to college, but life got in the way (like starting a family and financially
providing for them with multiple jobs). So perhaps this can motivate them to
pursue their interests. It’s never too late to learn something new!

adults in the U.S. have a literacy below sixth-grade level. That isn’t

There’s an art to using figurative language in writing.

And often students ovesaturate their essays with it to sound more “intelligent.”

Same can be said with using overly fancy vocabulary words that the average
person doesn’t even know.

Metaphors, similies, and anaphoras are often great to use.

But it’s really hard to effectively use alliteration (like what this sound in
the video uses) or something like onomatopoeias.

students ❤️ Wishing this for even more students.

Fun fact: my original career goal was to become a doctor. A nephrologist,
spefically. But due to my adversion to blood, working in healthcare wasn’t going
to work for me.

BUT through my content, resources, services etc - I have helped medical,
nursing, biomedical engineering students etc., WIN scholarships. Some of which
have even graduated debt-free ❤️

The future or healthcare is looking a bit brighter thanks to such a huge
donation!! :)

Did you already know?

Now this isn’t to say that a student who wins with nepotism helping them was
completely undeserving of a scholarship and didn’t have the stats to validate
their merit and accomplishments. However, having a connection with someone on
the decision board as a judge does certainly give you a leg up against others
who are not affiliated.

I’ve been rejected by schools, scholarships, and other competitive opportunities
I applied to. But did that stop me? No!

I won 30 scholarships, but was rejected by 100+

But I still graduated debt-free as a result of all that hard work.

Of course it was discouraging for a bit, but I realized that what’s meant for me
will come to me whether that was sooner or later.

In conclusion, this student likely will not keep that vast majority of this
scholarship money. The majority of these scholarships were probably
college-specific ones. After all, she did get accepted into 200+ colleges.

I wouldn’t doubt that she also won some external scholarships too though
considering how hardworking she is 💪

Typically when we see these stories every year of students winning millions in
scholarships, they add up the total money offered between each school and that
is what makes up the majority (if not all) of their scholarship funding.

But at the end of the day, you can on be enrolled in ONE university. Therefore,
you cannot accept each school’s financial aid offer.

School-specific scholarships ARE NOT the same as external scholarships (which
you are more likely to keep).

Also school-specific scholarships tend to be somewhat easier in comparison to
win than external ones because they are more abundant especially for incoming
freshmen students - after all, schools want to convince you even more as to why
you should go to their school by offering a “discount” so to say. *college is a
business!*

External scholarships are not really trying to convince you in the same way.

I’ve won 30x scholarships. For undergrad AND grad school. Here’s 3 pointers on
HOW:

1. I focused on scholarships I was more likely to win. Such as the ones more
specific to my background with less broad eligibility. Often people mainly apply
for the most competitive types and as a result NEVER win.

2. I was always applying! There are deadlines every month of the year.
Scholarships may even be less competitive to win such as during the summer
(since most focus instead of summer vacation / not their academics).

3. I wrote a stellar scholarship essay and had really strong letters of
recommendation. These two things I would argue are the MOST important part of
your application. Stats are cool (like your GPA and test scores) - but your
STORY is what allows you to stand out as an individual and can make your
application more MEMORABLE than those competiting against you.

Of course there is A LOT more that goes into this process (and I am nearly
running out of characters to write for this caption)

Replying to @Tiffany There are great school counselors, but there are also bad
counselors. Let’s talk about it!

Often this happens due to counselors being spread thin / being assigned too many
students to work with.

Another reason is because their training may focus on teaching students about
college admissions and the FAFSA — but not so much about scholarships.

Now, this doesn’t excuse the counselors mentioned in this video who gave
TERRIBLE misinformed advice that quite literally affected how much aid a student
could have received.

If you are a taxpayer in the following 12 states (read below👇) meeting the
eligibility requirements, you can use Direct File this filing season:

📍Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada,
South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, or Wyoming

For the first time ever taxpayers have the choice to file their taxes for FREE,
directly with the IRS, allowing them to sidestep paying for-profit tax
preparation companies.

Taxpayers spend 9 hours and $150, on average, preparing their taxes every year,
even though the overwhelming majority have simple tax cases and should be able
to file in minutes and for FREE.

The new online “chat” feature allows Direct File users to ask questions to a
human assistant during working hours. The chat is available in English and
Spanish.

Direct File works on computers, smartphones, and tablets.

Tiktok was the platform that truly allowed what I do to be taken to the next
level with helping even more students than I ever did before win scholarships
and graduate debt free from college.

For context, I started out on Youtube. However their algorithm didn’t promote my
educational content that much.

Then I tried Twitter - again, not much success there.

Then I tried Instagram. Initially, not much success (that is until they
introduced IG reels which we all know is awfully similar to Tiktok).

What made Tiktok’s algorithm unique was that it introduced my content to
thousands and millions of people who probably wouldn’t have searched for it on
their own.

Scholarships are something that many may need - but often never really search
for because it feels overwhelming or perhaps they are discouraged from even
applying (because they assume they won’t win).

I have had too many messages to even count from students and parents who
initially came across my content - were finally motivated to apply - and ended
up winning financial aid.

Sure my content has some reach with Youtube - but on there, the algorithm is
more so set up for those who are intentionally looking for this type of help
(rather than being randomly recommended it on their feed page).

That’s how Tiktok is different.

It allows me to also reach and teach the people who didn’t even know they were
needing this type of assistance in the first place.

So, hopefully, we can continue to #KeepTiktok
