THEY RESCUE 69 BOX MIGRANTS FROM A TRAILER IN ZARAGOZA, SLP

San Luis Potosí., SLP Some 69 migrants were rescued by police and National Guard
elements from the back of a trailer in the municipality of Zaragoza. Among the
foreigners were 16 women, two girls and 51 men.



Authorities reported this Tuesday the discovery of the foreigners who were in a
false bottom of the vehicle parked on the shore on the highway to Rioverde,
municipality of Villa de Zaragoza, 40 kilometers from the city of San Luis
Potosí.

The uniformed officers detected on Monday that the parked unit was without the
driver, and that it apparently had a mechanical failure, later they heard noise
and voices asking for help from the Torton-type truck bed.

Al abrir las puertas de la unidad se liberó a 16 mujeres, dos niñas y 51 hombres
que se encontraban en situación vulnerable y de riesgo debido a las altas
temperaturas del doble fondo de la caja.

Como parte de la aplicación del Plan Integral de Seguridad en carreteras y
caminos de la entidad potosina, los agentes de la Guardia Civil Estatal, en
coordinación con la Guardia Nacional, ubicaron el camión.

Los migrantes recibieron los primeros auxilios y quedaron en resguardo y
protección del Instituto Nacional de Migración, mientras la unidad quedó a
disposición de las autoridades competentes para las indagatorias pertinentes. La
Secretaría de Seguridad Pública y Protección Ciudadana no reveló la nacionalidad
de las personas rescatadas.
