Shelter Agencies of East Texas (SAFE-T) hosted a Domestic Violence Candle Light
Vigil and Awareness program Thursday night, to honor those ndividuals across the
state who have lost their lives to domestic violence, to offer hope to those
experiencing it, support for survivors and awareness that domestic violence does
indeed occur in Hopkins County.

Winners of the 2024 John Chester Dutch Oven Contest pose with their trophies and

From Staff Reports The 20th Annual John Chester Dutch Oven Cookoff was another
success, with multiple entries and lots of good food for those attending the
event and strolling the grounds taking in sights, sounds and smells of Hopkins
County's past during an Indian Summer Day at Hopkins County Heritage Park. Going
home with the first place trophy was the cook team of Rachel Bobo and Nancy
Phelan.

People walk laps around Celebration Plaza during Tuesday’s A Walk to Remember
fundraiser, benefitting Terrific Tuesdays respite program for caregivers of
people with people experiencing early to moderate memory loss. (See page 2 for
more photos.)
