WHAT IS SITUATIONAL CRIME PREVENTION?

Situational crime prevention is a crime reduction strategy used by law
enforcement that posits that criminal acts may be deterred by environmental
changes.  It focuses on the setting for crime, rather than those committing
criminal acts.  The main goal is to make criminal acts less attractive, and
requires assistance from public and private entities.
