The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost
organization for students interested in public relations and communications. We
seek to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of
future professionals. We advocate rigorous academic standards for public
relations education, the highest ethical principles and diversity in the
profession.
The Society’s mission is to serve our members by enhancing their knowledge of
public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities;
and to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly
qualified, well-prepared professionals.
The PRSSA society is made up of more than 300 chapters and 11,000 students. Each
Chapter has its own officers; a faculty advisor who is a member of PRSA; a
professional advisor who is a PRSA member with at least five years of public
relations experience; Chapter members; and a sponsoring PRSA Chapter (in our
case it is the Spokane PRSA professional chapter).
