Investigation & Fleet Campaign
:
•
OICbolt torque loss, discovered at airlines, verified after engine ATP
•
Gasket compression set, then clamping load loss
•
Bolt breakaway 10-40 lb-in, versus assembly 110-120 lb-in torque
•
OIC
gasket “extrusion” either side of 6 o’clock, at No. 5 Bearing
Support scavenge oil fitting
•
Warranted gasket design change, use of metallic mesh & graphite sheet: SB
72-0998
•
Multi-step torqueing procedures for gasket compression set required
•
 ASA Fleet Campaign:
•
 ASA Engineering order to inspect, provide deferrable condition (if TRFNo. 7
strut drain not plugged), within 1000 hrsTSN
•
 Auto attach deferred repair Engineering order 
•
On-wing repair with OICR&R, approx. 6 hrs
•
No repeat offenders yet discovered
