"Choose to Manage" Development Series

"Choose to Manage” is a management skills development series designed for new
and existing Suffolk managers and those individual contributors looking to grow
into managers.  Staff can enroll to attend courses covering a variety of
important skills.  Courses cover topics such as communication skills, hiring
best practices, conflict management, performance management, critical thinking,
process improvement, finance & budgeting, and more.

Join ISOM Professor Billy Mee for this Beginner Excel workshop. A prerequisite
for the upcoming Intermediate & Advanced workshop on March 2nd. This workshop is
good for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills on the fundamentals
of a core skill for analytics and decision making.

Excel is a versatile and indispensable tool for students and professionals to
manage and analyze data. Excel is a must-have skill for anyone in today’s
organizations as decisions using data are growing exponentially. Taking this
workshop would be the first step in becoming a proficient user in the software.
Here is an article discussing the Excel skills that employer are currently
looking for. Professor Mee will discuss many of these skills within his Beginner
and Intermediate workshops.

opportunities for members of the Suffolk University community. Our goal is to

partner with many organizations in Boston, including St. Francis House.

Our volunteers will be clothing volunteers, who sort and organize donations in
either the 2nd floor Clothing Room or Basement. Clothing volunteers may also

requesting clothing, jackets, shoes, etc. Our Clothing Department loves
volunteers who know how to balance taking initiative and closely following
directions. They also look for volunteers with strong communication skills,

Review and Preview" on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 4 pm for an in-depth
discussion of the centrality of healthcare in the national conversation by a
panel of distinguished health law practitioners and academics. 

Panelists will discuss the significant decisions of the Court in the 2022 Term
including Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indiana v. Talevski
holding that the Federal Nursing Home Amendments Act of 1987 create privately
enforceable rights under Section 1983, and they will preview cases the Court is
hearing in the 2024 Term. In addition, panelists will highlight cases in the
lower courts that are likely to reach the Supreme Court in the future on matters
such as abortion, firearms regulation and gender-affirming health care.

Confirmed speakers include:

 * Renée M. Landers, Professor of Law and Faculty Director, Health and
   Biomedical Law Concentration and Master of Science in Law: Life Sciences
   program
 * Thomas Barker, JD ‘98, Partner, Foley Hoag, LLP
