WHY I WALK

Each year in the United States, more than 120,000 babies are born with a birth
defect. They are the leading cause of infant deaths. There are thousands of
different birth defects, affecting the structure or function of every part of
the human body. The March of Dimes provides grants to researchers, with the goal
of understanding the causes of Birth Defects and developing new ways to prevent
and treat them. Currently, about 70 percent of the causes of birth defects are
unknown. October 30th 2017, at 21 weeks gestation our daughter, Rachel Ann, was
diagnosed with a rare birth defect; Ebstein's Anomaly: right sided heart
failure. There is no known cause for Ebstein's Anomaly and there is no inutero
treatment. We were told that her only chance of life was for God to protect her
heart and body till she was 28 weeks and they could potentially perform heart
surgery after birth. November 22nd 2017, at 24 weeks, Rachel Ann was already in
Heaven when she was born.  I'm walking in March for Babies to get the message
out about this terrible problem and you can help. Please make a secure donation
to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight birth
defects so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
