OUR GEL POLISH STORY

In gel polish manicures, a soft gel is used as a polish. The gel polish acts as
an overlay on the nail that lasts for at least two weeks (but can last up to
four weeks). As a result, nails have a high shine and are unaffected by
chipping, peeling, or cracking. It is gentle on the natural nail when gel polish
manicures are performed by an experienced, professional esthetician. UV or LED
light is required for the curing of gel polish, unlike regular nail polish. The
curing process occurs when UV or LED light is applied to specific wavelengths of
photo initiators within a gel. The chemical reaction known as polymerization
transforms the soft, liquid gel into a hard, solid gel. The solid gel remains
surrounded by a sticky layer after curing (known as the inhibition layer).
Polymerizing gel polish becomes stickier because oxygen in the air inhibits the
cure on the surface layer. If there is any residual stickiness left on the nail,
wipe it off with a lint-free wipe soaked in high-concentration alcohol, such as
rubbing alcohol.
