WHY DO I NEED A SAFETY CERTIFICATE?

The Safety Certificate is designed to keep vehicles that are on the road safe to
avoid accidents caused by un-roadworthy and defective vehicles. This offers the
buyer protection when purchasing that the vehicle meets the minimum safety
standards.


HOW LONG IS A SAFETY CERTIFICATE CURRENT FOR?

A Safety Certificate will take approximately 30-45 minutes.At the completion of
the inspection, a detailed report will be issued and emailed to you. If the
vehicle fails the safety inspection, you have 14 days to rectify the problem and
call us back out for a re-inspection.
Licensed motor dealers: Certificates are valid for 3 months or 1000km (whichever
comes first) from the date of issue.
All other sellers: Certificates are valid for 2 months or 2000km (whichever comes
first) from the date of issue.

HEAVY VEHICLE CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION

Our mobile heavy vehicle certificate of inspection (COI) services can be booked
6 days a week (Mon-Sat), before and after standard business hours, for your
convenience. That enables you to carry on ‘working’ with minimal interruption to
your schedule. Heavy vehicles are those that have a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of
between 4,500kg and up to 16,000kg, and includes unregistered trucks over 16T
and buses. It’s the obligation of the owners of all of these vehicles, to ensure
they have a current COI, which has been issued by an Approved Inspection Station
(AIS). The COI must be kept current at all times. We recommend booking your
mobile COI heavy vehicle inspection, to take place within a 2 month window prior
to your current certificate expiring.

CLEARANCE OF DEFECT NOTICES

Defect notices can be issued to you directly, by a police or transport officer
during a routine inspection / interception. So, what do you do when you have
received a defect notice? Well, the notice itself has all the information you
need to take action; amongst other things, it details the faults identified and
the type of inspection required to clear the defect notice. On the back of the
notice, it will also tell you who is authorized to clear the defect notice and
if it has a tick for an Approved Person from an Approved Inspection Station
(AIS), we can help you as we have AIS approved examiners, accredited by the
Queensland Government, Department of Transport and Main Roads.
