This platform is designed to accumulate industry related issues particularly related to EoDB and provide real time resolution status, streamlining the process of addressing business reforms. The dashboard facilitates seamless collaboration among all stakeholders, ensuring accountability and transparency in issue resolution. Integrating the concerns of the industry members with the responsive actions of the policy makers, the EoDB dashboard will provide a unified platform through which relevant stakeholders can engage and spawn positive change. By empower industry members with the tool to voice their concerns and actively participate in the resolution process, the dashboard supports CII’s commitment to dynamic, resilient, and prosperous business environment. ACCESS BRAP PORTAL Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) portal developed by DPIIT to track real-time rankings of states & UTs based on implemented reforms. (Source: BRAP Portal website) EODB PORTAL – CENTRAL PILLARS ‘Government-CII Task Force on EoDB’ chaired by Secretary-DPIIT and represented by 9 central ministries and select CII members has been operationalized since 2022. 4 Working Groups have been formed under ‘Government-CII Task Force on EoDB’, namely, Reducing Regulatory Compliance Burden, Streamlining Enforcing Contracts, Easing Paying Taxes and Decriminalization of business laws. 1000+ EoDB recommendations have been submitted to relevant authorities. Among the selected 200+ recommendations, 94 have been accepted by the government. 10+ key areas including legal metrology, labour, environment, land, inspection, deemed approval, and trade facilitation among others are being focused on to reduce the regulatory compliance burden. ABOUT EODB Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) refers to the conduciveness of the regulatory environment for starting, operating and exiting a business in a particular location. The World Bank has identified 10 parameters to assess the regulatory environment in geographies across globe. The CII Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) portal is a dedicated platform designed to provide information and invite feedback on EoDB reforms/issues. It also highlights some key initiatives undertaken by the Government of India, State Governments and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to improve business environment in the country. The portal enables businesses to send in their inputs for consideration of policy advocacy. When compared across years, the ease of doing business ranking shows how much the regulatory environment has changed relative to that in other economies. India ranked 63rd in the World Bank’s Doing Business Ranking, 2019 before its discontinuation by the World Bank. Due to the continued efforts of Government of India, India’s rank in the DBR improved from 142nd in 2014 to 63rdin 2019, registering a jump of 79 ranks in a span of 5 years. NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM The National Single Window System (NSWS) is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at simplifying and streamlining the process of business approvals and clearances.
